The body of a man was found near his burning car
The man whose body was found near his burning car was identified as Lindsay Mark Antony Bell, 45, of Cambridge, New Zealand.

Meanwhile, carnage on New Zealand death roads reached a new crescendo:
A young child was killed after being hit by a motorcycle on State Highway 46 west of Turangi this afternoon at 2pm.

Police killed a 14-year-old boy within a minute of chasing a car in Auckland early today.
“The victim was a passenger in a stolen car which crashed about 47 seconds after the police pursuit began in the west Auckland suburb of Titirangi. He died at the scene.”
The police could have taken measures to immobilize the ‘stolen vehicle,’ but they didn’t.

A 19-year-old woman is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Nelson, New Zealand.
“Police said there had been reports of up to 10 youths kicking letterboxes, rubbish bins and passing cars as they walked along Weka Street around 9.30pm.
The victim reportedly stepped into the road to avoid being hit by rubbish bins, only to be hit by a passing vehicle.

The driver of a car was killed when his car collided with another car whose 5 occupants received critical injuries. The collision occurred on the Owaka Highway in South Otago, near the Finegand freezing works.

At 4.30pm yesterday a woman was killed when two cars collided at Prebbleton, south of Christchurch at an intersection. Several other were injured.

Gendie Cara Roxburgh was killed when her car went out of control and rolled near Cust, 50km northwest of Christchurch at 4:50pm yesterday.
