“Well done the French [for Terrorism]” – UK Fascist MEP

This Week’s Terror Politician of the Week Award Goes to Godfrey Bloom

Godfrey Bloom (born 22 November 1949 in London) is a Member of the European Parliament for Yorkshire and the Humber for the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). He was first elected in 2004, and re-elected in 2009. [Wikipedia]

Bloom was filmed at last year’s climate change summit in Copenhagen congratulating the French for the 1985 bombing the Greenpeace ship the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland in which a Dutch photographer Fernando Pereira was blown to pieces,  a report said.

How careless! The terrorist MP forgot to thank NZ SIS role in the sinking the Greenpeace ship the Rainbow Warrior!

This blog does NOT endorse Greenpeace because of the group’s background and its corporate involvement!

Violent Crimes in NZ: “Tip of the Iceberg”

Posted by te2ataria on February 7, 2010

How can the statistics be “showing that crime is dropping”?

Reader “Reggio” comments on the number of violent crimes in New Zealand:

This is actually only the tip of the iceberg.  My local paper is not searchable online, and just glancing at Thursday’s edition, I notice a stick-up of a tourist at the supermarket parking lot.  They ripped his shirt off and punched him when he said he had no money.  Another attack occurred elsewhere in town, man knocked to ground and kicked, cellphone and wallet taken.  One vehicle stolen, one house burgled, one assault, one attempted burglary at a motel, one drunken driving incident causing a multiple car crash, one shop window smashed. In a tourist town of several thousand people. The New Zealand National Survey of Crime Victims cited an incidence of crime that was “twice the figure in the police reports”. I think people weigh the amount of nuisance it will cause them for no outcome and decide not to report.  How can the statistics be “showing that crime is dropping”?  Could it be wishful thinking? A redesign of crime categories?
