Carjacking victim breathes with the aid of a ventilator in induced coma

Indian victim, Sukjhinder Singh, is said to be in “an induced coma in a serious but stable condition in Waikato Hospital, breathing with the aid of a ventilator,”  according to a report.

The 21-year-old victim, received a brain injury a broken right leg, a broken right arm, and a  fractured right eye socket.

“His homestay host, Sandra-Jane Witana, of Katikati, told the Herald yesterday how his family from Kurukshetra in the north of India were desperate to come to New Zealand to be at his side”. The report said.

Mr Singh had been studying business management at AUT for the past 18 months, but the only job he was given in New Zealand was working as a “foreman of a Katikati kiwifruit gang”.
