Two children, 5 adults seriously injured in crash following police pursuit

Two people were killed and 13 others seriously/ critically injured in three crashes on Good Friday.
One person was killed in a single vehicle crash in Methven, near Christchurch, this morning and another person was killed after a van carrying seven people crashed near Cromwell, in Otago this afternoon.

The victims include:
- Two kids aged 4 and 7
- A female aged 18
- Two 21-year-olds (a woman and a man)
- Two men aged 26 and 38

Based even on the government’s doctored data, an average of 25 crashes occur on NZ roads each day, resulting in 31 reportable injuries including 14 hospitalization (8 serious injuries) and at least one fatality.
That is 275 crashes over the past 11 days, ending in 341 reportable injuries including 154 hospitalization (88 serious injuries), and at least 11 fatalities.
