Today is DAY 147 of the latest NZ TOURISTS or truth? campaign, AND another blanket ban day on reporting road fatalities
Truth hurts New Zealand tourism. The average tourist would not visit this country, if they knew true extent of the daily carnage on our deadly roads. Therefore:
To protect the tourism industry, about two-thirds of the road fatalities in New Zealand go unreported by our political police, or unrecorded by Ministry of Transport [“Minitru”.]
About 2.7 million licensed drivers, half million or so unlicensed/unqualified drivers and more than one million tourists (per year) drive on New Zealand death roads.
A large number of the above drive a vehicle under the influence (illicit drugs, banned substances, prescription medication…), while intoxicated, fatigued or mentally unfit, resulting in inordinate numbers of fatalities and injuries. [Other factors for the carnage include deadly roads, road unworthy vehicles…]
Between 2001 and 2014, New Zealand’s vehicle fleet reportedly increased by 32 per cent, while the population grew by 16 per cent and foreign travel was up by 15 per cent. And over the last 10 years the number of international visitors has increased by about 30 per cent.
Blog estimate: About 900 people are killed on NZ roads each year. [Most probably] up to 338 road fatalities have occurred in NZ since 1 January 2016
How do they do it?

Serious Road Crashes
Based even on the government’s heavily manipulated data, an average of 25 crashes occur on NZ roads each day, resulting in 31 reportable injuries including 14 hospitalizations (8 serious injuries) and at least one fatality.
That is 700 crashes in last four weeks alone, resulting in 868 reportable injuries including 392 hospitalizations (224 serious injuries), and at least 28 fatalities.
However, no more than about three dozen or so serious crashes have been reported over this period.
What happened to the other 660 or so road crashes that have occurred over the past 4 weeks???
There’s clearly a reporting ban [also] on serious crashes in effect. If all of the serious crashes were to be reported, police would be unable to manipulate the road toll with ease.
Motor Vehicle Crashes in New Zealand 2014 [Heavily Doctored]

- 11,920 less serious injuries
In 2002, according to the official data, there were:
- 404 deaths
- 5,200 hospitalisations
- 14,000 injuries
- 1.5 deaths per 10,000 vehicles
- 10 deaths per 100,000 population
