Judge Karma delivers, where frigging Farish fails
Dead teen’s parents angry as charges dismissed against driver
Sarah Joy Mitchell, the driver who crashed into Aaron’s girlfriend’s Ford Laser, an Exclusive Brethren and mother of 10, initially hired $1,000-an-hour Christchurch Queens Counsel Pip Hall.
“This week, Judge Jane Farish dismissed a charge of careless driving causing death against Sarah Joy Mitchell, the driver who crashed into Aaron’s girlfriend’s Ford Laser. She accepted expert testimony that she suffered Profound Dissociative Spectrum Disorder (PDSD), or as the judge called it, a ‘white-out'”.
Auckland University associate law professor Bill Hodge said he was unaware of PDSD the defence being used before, and said it was concerning.
“If you have any idea you have a dissociative condition you should not be behind the wheel. The negligence is carrying on that you might have one of these episodes.
“I’m nervous about this.”
The defendant could have probably avoided ‘white-out’ had she not been lying in a missionary position all her life, reproducing like a rabbit, and left the booze bottle at home.
Alcoholism among the holier-than-thou *&*^%$ Exclusive Brethren?
Sister of Exclusive Brethren killed in crash has charge of causing death of teenager dismissed [by a corrupt judge]
An Exclusive Brethren member who had a charge of careless driving causing death dismissed lost her sister and niece in a fatal car crash just days earlier.
Sarah Joy Mitchell had charges against her dismissed over a 2014 fatal crash after a judge found she suffered from a dissociative disorder causing her to ‘white-out’.
She appeared in the Christchurch District Court this week, just two days after her sister, Susie Stewart, was killed when a ute carrying eight churchgoers smashed into a tree near Dargaville on Monday night.
Susie’s daughter Sadie Stewart, 16, of Paparoa, and James Wearmouth, 18, of Maungaturoto, were also killed, and several more were hospitalised.
The church was grieving the loss of another member, Jason McCallum, who was killed when his a car collided with a cargo truck that crossed a highway centreline in April. http://stuff.co.nz/national/80899065/Sister-of-Exclusive-Brethren-killed-in-crash-escapes-conviction-for-causing-death-of-teenager
