A fatal crash occurred on State Highway 99, near Wallacetown, involving a car and motorcycle, killing one person, police said.

Pioneering Maori detective killed in head-on crash
The woman killed in a head-on crash in Paekakariki on Sunday was pioneering Maori detective Te Rauoriwa Daphne Pomare. She was returning from a holiday visiting family in Western Australian mining country when her car was involved in a head-on crash on the Kapiti Coast on Sunday. Crash on State Highway 2 leaves two critically injured
A two-car crash on State Highway 2, between Ridgemount Rd and Matahorua Rd, just after 5pm on Sunday. Both drivers were taken to Hawke’s Bay Hospital with critical/ serious injuries.

Man hit by car near Matata
A man was hit by a car near Matata this afternoon. The victim, believed to have been cycling, and a car collided near the intersection of SH2 and Flax Rd about 2.25pm, and has since been taken man to Whakatane Hospital in a serious condition, reported Bay of Plenty Times.

The Orbiter bus was stopped at a bus stop on Hamilton’s Pembroke Street by Waikato Hospital on September 29 before it rolled down the hill, smashed into a wooden side barrier and sent logs flying, bounced off the barrier and rolled over to the other side of Pembroke Street. Record number of quad bike deaths
