Another Double Murder-Mystery???
Two trampers found dead in the Tararua Forest Park in Wairarapa
Mystery surrounds the deaths of two male trampers, aged 39 and 32, whose bodies were found on a track in the Tararua Forest Park in Wairarapa today, police said.
“The men were reported overdue last night [Sunday] at around 7:00pm by a family member. The pair had headed out on an overnight tramp to Alpha Hut from the Waiohine Gorge campsite on Saturday morning, and were due back on Sunday evening.
“One body was located at approximately 10:25am by a member of the public. Search and Rescue located a second body at around 1:00pm a short distance away. Both bodies were recovered from the bush this afternoon.”
A woman has burns to her eyes and face after hot coffee was poured over her during a racist row in Queenstown.
The Australian woman received burns to her eyes and face after she reacted to racist comments made outside Fergbaker about 12.30am on Sunday, Sergeant Steve Watt said.
She was part of a pub crawl group of about 20 standing in Shotover St when two other females not from the group, pushed through and made a racist slur, Watt said.
“When challenged about her comment, she [the alleged offender] tipped a hot drink over her head,” he said.
Police were hunting for two women in relation to the incident.

Burnt Alive: Brisbane Indian bus driver killed in racist attack
A young Indian migrant, working as a bus driver in Australia, was burnt alive after being doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire at a bus stop in Brisbane.
The bus, carrying six passengers, pulled into Moorvale Shopping Centre on Beaudesert Road to pick up three passengers at about 9am, Queensland Police Superintendent Jim Keogh said.
“At that time one of the passengers entered onto the bus and poured a flammable liquid onto the driver and subsequently the driver was set alight and is now deceased,” he said.
“The fire was substantial, he would have stood little chance. The other passengers are lucky to have escaped with minor injuries.”
