Were the two Xero employees murdered because they stumbled on a dark secret?

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the mystery deaths of two trampers in Tararua Forest Park over the weekend. [But, more likely than not, nothing will come out of it.]

The two victims were Mykhalo Stepura (also known as Michael Stepura), 39; and Pavel (Paul) Pazniak, 32, police said.

Stepura, a “father of two boys,” was a software developer who worked for Xero and lived in Lower Hutt.

“All of us at Xero are deeply saddened by the loss of our teammates, Pavel Pazniak, known to us as Paul, and Mykhalo Stepura, known to us as Michael,” a Xero spokesperson said.

“Our focus is on supporting their families at this difficult time. We are a tight-knit team at Xero and this is a tough time for many of us.

Earthquake Latest: Urgent evacuation south of Kaikoura
An urgent precautionary evacuation of residents from the small community of Goose Bay, about 7km south of earthquake-hit Kaikoura has been completed, Civil Defence said.
