Helicopter crashes in the Waimarino Forest, Ruapehu.
The pilot was the only person on board and his condition is unclear at this stage, police said.

One killed in crash on SH1, Spring Creek, Marlborough
One person was killed and five others injured in crash on SH1, south of Spring Creek, in Marlborough.
“A St John Spokesperson says one person is in a critical condition and is being taken to Wellington Hospital by helicopter, and another four people are being transported by road to Blenheim Hospital.”
One killed, two seriously injured in a crash in Awakino, Waitomo
“A St John spokeswoman said two people were taken by ambulance to Taranaki Base Hospital in a serious condition. A third person died at the scene. On Saturday, another person was critically injured when a car and truck collided in a similar area.

At least one person was killed in a two-car crash, which occurred between the Newton Road on-ramp and the St Lukes off-ramp, police said.
