Storms, flooding and slips hit large swathes of New Zealand
Another “one-in-100-year storm” yesterday triggered flooding and slips causing significant damage to about a dozen homes in Coromandel Peninsula. http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/326184/seven-coromandel-homes-hit-by-slips
Meanwhile flood warnings are in place for Kaeo and Ngunguru.
“MetService, which has a heavy rain warning in place for Northland, Coromandel Peninsula and Bay of Plenty, was expecting continued rainfall in Northland through to Saturday morning.”
Weather set to get more severe around Auckland over the weekend
More severe weather is forecast for Auckland over the coming days, Civil Defence has warned.
“While we’ve had a good, dry reprieve today, the weather on Friday night and Saturday morning is forecast to be comparable to, or worse, than Tuesday,” said MetService.

NZ Youth: Vicious, Sexually Perverted…
“Appalling” assault at Hutt Valley High School
“What occurred was simply totally unacceptable in any school … the authorities are involved, there is quite a process running [but let’s not speak out of context; after all, we’re in NZ,]” principal Ross Sinclair told Fairfax.
“It has so far been an unimpressive week for schools in the Wellington region, with Wellington College making headlines for its students’ derogatory online comments about women, and St Patrick’s Silverstream students getting suspended for inappropriately filming female staff.”
“Gerard Tully, the rector of St Patrick’s College at Silverstream, confirmed four Year 9 students had been suspended after a ‘most distressing incident of sexual harassment‘”.
The sexual harassment at the Catholic school comes shortly after Wellington College students posted comments on Facebook about having sex with drunk unconscious girls.
One of the messages said, “If you don’t take advantage of a drunk girl, you’re not a true WC [Wellington College] boy.”
Friends of the boys have since said the posts were jokes, but young women and students and sex education groups said similar comments could be heard every day in schools across the country.
