Two armed robberies in Dunedin in under an hour

Armed robbers have held up two Dunedin stores – a central city antique shop and a suburban dairy – within an hour, said a report.

Meanwhile, a man armed with a hammer, entered a Waipukurau scrap metal business on Cook Street, in Waikpukurau and approached a staff member. Police are making fresh enquiries into the disappearance of 67-year-old Hamilton man Frederick “Rick’ Hayward.

Hamilton man Frederick “Rick’ Hayward went missing in 2013.

He was last seen leaving his home around 5pm on Monday 2 September 2013, with the intention of travelling to the family bach in Raglan. As revealed on Police Ten 7 on TV2 earlier this evening, after initially being treated as a missing person’s inquiry, new information has come to light. “We now believe something sinister may have happened to Rick,” says Detective Sergeant Andrew Saunders. It may be the case that Mr Hayward was the victim of a hit and run. We are not suggesting that anyone deliberately knocked him down. However, the driver might have panicked and disposed of Mr Hayward’s body”, says police.

Police searching for missing Auckland man
Police are currently looking for 36-year-old Jeremy Charles Judson (pictured), who has been reported missing by his family. Jeremy was last seen on 11 June in the Newmarket/Epsom area, where he is known to have sometimes slept in a car.

Police have concerns for a missing 65-year-old Malaysian Man, Geok Yeo who went missing from Henderson around the Lincoln Road area on Friday 16 June, 2017. He left his home address by foot and may be using public transport. Geok is fluent in English, Malaysian and Mandarin. His family are concerned for his welfare and would like him to return home.
