Driver killed in Inglewood school bus crash

NZ buses, cars and roads are fatally unsafe, as we have been saying for years!

The male school bus driver was killed in a crash on State Highway 3 in Inglewood yesterday.

“There were 13 passengers aged 12-17 on the bus at the time of the crash. Ten passengers have been taken to Taranaki Base Hospital where they are being assessed. Three other passengers were taken to a local Media Centre to be assessed,” police said.

The fatal crash was the third bus crash to cause death and/or injury since July 28.
The driver has since been statistically resurrected by the Ministry of Resurrection. The officially cooked death toll remains at 229 since August 5. Based on the road fatality reports by police, there have been at least 182 resurrections so far this year.

19 injured in Rongotea bus crash

There were 19 people on board the bus that crashed into a ditch in Rongotea on Thursday. [Originally police had said there were 28 people on board.] Six people were taken to Palmerston North Hospital with various injuries. “A former bus driver for Ruapehu Alpine Lifts says shuttles and drivers are under too much stress and Saturday’s fatal crash was an accident waiting to happen.”

Hannah Francis, 11, was killed in a bus crash on the mountain which left 18 other skiers injured.     A crash in Auckland’s CBD has blocked the road and left one person in a serious condition.

    A car and a bus collided at the intersection of Queen Street and Victoria Street West just before 7:50pm.

    One person, in the car, has serious injuries.

    Police attending incident in Muriwai

    Police and emergency services are at the scene of a serious incident at an address on Oaia Rd, Muriwai, which occurred around 1.10pm.

    It appears a vehicle has rolled down the driveway of a private property.

    Sadly, one person has died at the scene.

    Two other people have injuries and are being transported to hospital, one of them is in a serious condition.

    UPDATE: Serious crash south of Sanson, Manawatu
    Friday, 17 August 2018 – 6:44pm

    SH1 between Rongotea and Sanson has re-opened following a serious crash earlier this afternoon.

    The crash involved two cars and occurred shortly after 3pm on the Himatangi Straight south of Sanson. One person suffered critical injuries in the crash and two other people received moderate injuries.

    Truck crash in Nelson SH6 – road closed
    Thursday, 16 August 2018 – 6:40am
    Tasman

    A large truck towing two trailers has rear-ended a stationary parked truck on SH6, Tahunanui, Nelson this morning at around 4.20am.

    The single occupant driver has been extracted by Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) and taken to hospital. There is no current status update for the driver.

    The stationary truck was parked up and loaded with batteries for scrap. The contents of this truck, batteries and acid, have spilled all over the road and the road is blocked.

    Police are attending a crash in Paparangi, Wellington where a child has been struck by a car about 9.50am.

    The child has been taken to hospital via ambulance in a serious condition.

    The crash occurred at Mark Avenue and Cara Crescent.
