Circumstances of the woman’s death “UNEXPLAINED” –police

“Sudden death” at Castle Rock

Climber saw partner from the U.S. fall 120m to her death

A 28-year-old U.S. woman fell about 120 metres to her death while climbing Motutere/ Castle Rock, a popular cliff face on the Coromandel Peninsula, a report said.

The incident occurred around 10am on Sunday 19 August near Whitianga, where the woman reportedly died from “non-survivable injuries.”

“Inquiries are ongoing to understand the circumstances of the death which is being treated as unexplained. No further information is available at this stage,” police said.

Hospital’s poor care after crash leads to teen’s death

A teenager rushed to a rural hospital after a 2014 car crash was denied proper care because staff thought she was drunk.
“The rural GP at the hospital said the woman would not be transferred to the city hospital because she was drunk.”
“It was only after family complaints and a police-requested blood test showed no alcohol in her system that the woman was transported to a city hospital’s intensive care unit, where she later died.”

Fatal crash in Bay of Plenty
Sunday, 19 August 2018 – [Bay of Plenty of Deaths]

One person was killed in a two-car crash on State Highway 2 at Whakamarama, Bay of Plenty.

Emergency services attended the scene shortly after 11:20am near Munro Road.

The sole occupant of one vehicle died at the scene. One person in the second vehicle received moderate injuries.

Police are attending a serious crash on River Road, Horsham Downs.  The crash happened shortly after 1pm and involved one car hitting a tree opposite the Horsham Downs Golf Club.

One person has received critical injuries in the crash and River Road is currently closed. Diversions are in pace at Kay Road and Horotiu Bridge Road. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Police and emergency services are at the scene of a serious incident at an address on Oaia Rd, Muriwai, which occurred around 1.10pm.

It appears a vehicle has rolled down the driveway of a private property.

Sadly, one person has died at the scene.

Two other people have injuries and are being transported to hospital, one of them is in a serious condition.

SH1 between Rongotea and Sanson has re-opened following a serious crash earlier this afternoon.

The crash involved two cars and occurred shortly after 3pm on the Himatangi Straight south of Sanson. One person suffered critical injuries in the crash and two other people received moderate injuries.

Truck crash in Nelson SH6 – road closed

A large truck towing two trailers has rear-ended a stationary parked truck on SH6, Tahunanui, Nelson this morning at around 4.20am.

The single occupant driver has been extracted by Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) and taken to hospital. There is no current status update for the driver.

The stationary truck was parked up and loaded with batteries for scrap. The contents of this truck, batteries and acid, have spilled all over the road and the road is blocked.
