About 1056 people critically injured on NZ roads so far this year

On average four people sustain critical injuries on NZ roads each day. That’s 1,056 people so far this year.

NZ police have declared only six of the near-fatally injured dead. What happened to the remaining 1,050 victims?

We demand to know!

NZ police must release full details of the critically injured including the exact numbers of fatalities.

“Eight people suffering from severe reactions to synthetic cannabis have been treated at Christchurch Hospital’s emergency department with three admitted to intensive care.”

The patients are men, aged 20 to 56 years, all taken to hospital over a 24-hour period, the report said.

Homicide investigation in Upper Hutt
Thursday, 20 September 2018 – 7:56pm – Wellington
Emergency services were called to a scene on Golders Road, Upper Hutt shortly before 4:30pm this afternoon to reports a man had been stabbed.
Despite efforts to revive him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested a male at a nearby address for assault, and are currently speaking with him.
There is not thought to be any risk to the public at this time, however the Police investigation into what happened continues.

Body found on Weymouth Beach in South Auckland
A body has been found on Weymouth Beach, near Manurewa, in south Auckland.
Police were told about the body around 1.10pm today and are still at the scene where it was discovered.

Police can now release the name of the pedestrian who died on Monday 17 September after being hit by vehicles on the Waikato Expressway.
He was 44-year-old Karl William Marsh, who lived in Pukekohe. [His nationality was not disclosed.]

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on SH2 near Kaitoke, Upper Hutt.
At least one person is critically injured.
The road is closed in both directions. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Police are in attendance at a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian on Main North Rd in Redwood, Christchurch.
Police were called to the scene around 8.10am.
The pedestrian is in a critical condition and has been taken to hospital.

Update on crash at Orari near Timaru
Tuesday, 18 September 2018 – 5:16pm – Canterbury
Police can now confirm that three people are in a serious condition as a result of the crash today at 3.40pm.
These three seriously injured occupants have been helicoptered to hospital.
Of the remaining occupants, one person has moderate injuries, and four others have minor or no injuries at all.

Police are seeking information from the public following the death of a pedestrian on the Waikato Expressway yesterday.
The crash happened at around 7.30pm southbound on the Waikato Expressway north of the Horotiu turnoff. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw someone walking south on the Waikato Expressway last night in the area of the crash.
