NZ Health Warning:

Nelson in serious competition with Auckland, Dunedin, Wellington for sewage contamination, bad smell

Smell of sewage pervades Nelson once again, thanks to warmer weathers affecting shoddy  treatment ponds at Nelson North Wastewater Treatment Plant, a report said.

“The last time the stench hit, the [sewage-head] council was found to have breached resource consent conditions over the smell.”

Poo Poo City [“Nelson”] is now in serious competition with Auckland, Dunedin, Wellington…

In February:

“There were evacuations from homes and campsites in low-lying areas, and a failure at Richmond’s pump station caused sewerage overflows into Monaco, Nelson Haven and Waimea Estuary.”
