The majority of NZ houses are unfit to live in, even for farm animals!’

“New Zealand isn’t a sub-tropical destination and our homes are ‘piss poor’”

“We are a cold country, so why are our houses so ill-equipped?”

Impact of cold, damp and mouldy houses on health

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends a minimum indoor temperature of 18°C.

  • New Zealand houses are cold. The temperature in about a third of New Zealand homes is below what the WHO recommended minimum.
  • Researchers found the mean temperature in Auckland houses was as low as 16.5°C, with the uninsulated houses even colder by 1.4°C.
  • Research also shows that “indoor temperatures under 16°C significantly increase the risk of respiratory infections.”

A third of New Zealand households reported visible mould in a 2002 national survey.

    • Mold-induced asthma. In people allergic to mold, breathing in spores can trigger an asthma flare-up. If you have a mold allergy and asthma, be sure you have an emergency plan in place in case of a severe asthma attack.
    • Allergic fungal sinusitis. This results from an inflammatory reaction to fungus in the sinuses.
    • Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis. This reaction to fungus in the lungs can occur in people with asthma or cystic fibrosis.
    • Hypersensitivity pneumonitis. This rare condition occurs when exposure to airborne particles such as mold spores causes the lungs to become inflamed. It may be triggered by exposure to allergy-causing dust at work.

Deep Silence: Total news blackout on road fatalities

Posted by te2ataria on June 29, 2019

Police report ZERO road fatalities, injuries on Thursday – Friday

“Ignorance is strength!”

NZ police have reported zero road fatalities on Thursday – Friday. Even news of road injuries have been censored.

On Wednesday, only one of the three road fatalities was   reported.

The likelihood of zero fatalities and no injuries occurring on NZ roads over a two-day period is of the same order of magnitude as landing only tails (or heads) 3,000 times consecutively, flipping a (non-rigged) coin.
