It always happens this way!

After an extended spell of road fatality news blackout, NZ police always find themselves facing  multiple deaths they’re unable to hide — too many witnesses!

Quadruple Fatal Crash, Kaingaroa Forest
Monday, 29 July 2019 – 7:50am – [Bay of Plenty of Multiple Fatalities]
Four people were killed in a violent crash between a van and fully laden logging truck at the intersection of Bonisch Road and Parapara Road in the Kaingaroa Forest., earlier this morning. https://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/update-fatal-crash-kaingaroa-forest

A fifth victim was in a critical condition and flown by the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter to Waikato Hospital, a report said.

“A reporter at the scene said a person sitting in the passenger seat of a ute was visibly distraught, holding their head in their hands as the ute was also let through to the crash scene.”  [Evidence that the road is used by members of the public!]

Fatal Crash: SH 6, Kumara Junction Highway
Monday, 29 July 2019 – 11:42am  –  Tasman
Emergency Services are responding to a fatal crash on the Houhou Bridge, Kumara Junction Highway, SH 6.
One person has died and another person has reportedly sustained serious injuries. Police were called to the two-vehicle crash at about 10.40am.

Single vehicle crash in Pukekohe
Sunday, 28 July 2019 – 4:36pm  –  Counties Manukau
Police are in attendance at a serious crash on Ostrich Farm Road near Heights Road in Pukekohe.
Emergency services were notified of the crash at 3:20pm after a car rolled.
One person has died at the scene and the road is closed with diversions in place.

Serious crash in South Taranaki
Saturday, 27 July 2019 – 10:32pm – Central
Emergency services are at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in South Taranaki.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Mountain and Cornwall Roads in Ngaere around 9:45pm.
The single occupant of the vehicle has died at the scene.

Police force “fleeing” motorcyclist out of the road but fail to kill him
If you translate the pathetic police report it reads like: “Oh! That motorcyclist is driving too dangerously, let’s chase him!” And immediately afterwards: “That motorcyclist is driving too dangerously, let’s NOT chase him!! We’ll just follow him until he crashes!!!”

“Please attribute to Acting Inspector Dan Weir, North Comms:
At approximately 9.21 this morning, Police attempted to stop the driver of motorcycle who was travelling at excess speeds on Glenbrook Road in Waiuku.
“The driver failed to stop for Police and a pursuit was initiated. This was abandoned almost instantly due to the manner of driving by the motorcyclist.
“Police did not re-engage in the pursuit at any point but continued to make enquiries to try and locate the driver.
“Approximately 10 minutes later the motorcyclist has crashed at the intersection of Hingaia Road and Harbourside Drive.
“The male is in a serious condition and has been transported to Middlemore Hospital.”

“Please attribute to Acting Tasman District Commander Inspector Virginia Welch. One man has been injured in a serious incident in Marlborough this evening. The man, who was wanted by Police, failed to stop on State Highway 1. Subsequently spikes were deployed and the vehicle came to a stop at an intersection of Hardings Rd on SH1.  The man who allegedly presented a knife was shot in the arm. Police immediately issued first aid and the man was transported to Wairau hospital. The alleged offender is under Police guard at the hospital.”
