Fatal Crash, State Highway 1 – Moerewa
Wednesday, 11 September 2019 – 3:35pm  –  Northland

“Police remain at the scene of a serious crash between two vehicles on State Highway 1 near Moerewa.”

At least one person was killed in the crash.

Our kids literacy significantly worse than even five years ago!

Furthermore, “about 27 percent of New Zealand children did not meet the ‘intermediate benchmark’ for reading compared to an international median figure of 18 percent.”

“The council’s chief executive, Jo Cribb, said international research has also found literacy in New Zealand primary school aged children decreased significantly in the last five years.”

Although the reading rates in other OECD countries have improved, New Zealand children have been left behind, Cribb said.
