Seven more people — nationalities undisclosed — have been killed in NZ while skiing, boating, snorkeling, riding… or driving on our suicide roads:

Skier killed in crash at Coronet Peak in Queenstown

A female skier was killed at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak skifield earlier today.

“It is believed the woman crashed at the bottom of Sugar’s Run, which is accessed by the Coronet Express chairlift, at about 9am.”

“We are in contact with her family and we are also assisting our staff and guests on the mountain who may have been affected by this event. We are also actively working with the appropriate authorities as the investigations get under way,” NZSki chief executive Paul Anderson said.

Fatal boating incident, Manukau Harbour
Saturday, 21 September 2019 – 2:14pm – Waitemata
One person was killed when a vessel overturned in Manukau Harbour this morning.
“The incident was reported to Police about 12.20pm when three people were pulled from the water by a member of the public in a passing boat.”
The others sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, police said

Name release: Makorori, Gisborne

Police can now release the name of the man who died after getting into difficulty in the water at Makorori, north of Gisborne on 15 September.
He was Isaac Miles Brown, aged 33. [Nationality NOT revealed.]

Update: Maramarua Forest crash
Thursday, 19 September 2019 – 9:33am – Waikato
A person has died following a crash on Okaeria Road, Maramarua Forest yesterday.
The single vehicle crash occurred at 12.45pm.
The driver, a 45-year-old man and the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene. [Name, nationality unknown.]
Death following serious motorcycle crash at Moerewa
Friday, 20 September 2019 – 8:42pm – Northland
A man has died following a serious crash on State Highway 1 near Moerewa this afternoon.
Police were notified of the crash around 3pm.
The man was transported to Auckland Hospital following the crash, however he has sadly died.
Two other riders were injured in the crash, which involved several motorcycles.
One rider sustained serious injuries and the other sustained moderate injuries.
UPDATE: E-scooter incident, central Auckland

Police can confirm a 23-year-old man has passed away following an incident involving an e-scooter in central Auckland on Monday 16 September.
Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this time.

Death following crash near Wakefield
Friday, 20 September 2019 – 8:15am – Tasman
A man has died following a crash on State Highway 6 at Motupiko, near Wakefield, yesterday.
The 40-year-old man was critically injured when his car collided with a tree at around 2.30am on 19 September.
He was airlifted to Wellington Hospital, where he sadly passed away overnight.
