Police’s Dive Squad has recovered a body following a search for a missing boy in Havelock, Marlborough today.
The six-year-old was reported missing about 6:25am.
The Dive Squad arrived on the scene about 1:45pm and following a short search located a body which has been confirmed as that of the missing child.

The enquiry into a body found in a creek near Allen Bell Drive Kaitaia today is being treated as an unexplained death.
While formal identification is yet to take place, we are satisfied we know the identity of the deceased man and we are working with the family and the Coroner.

Waikato police are appealing for sightings of missing Ngaruawahia man Michael Murdoch.
Michael, aged 44, was last seen on Thursday 26 September 2019.

UPDATE: Homicide investigation, Edgecumbe
Wednesday, 2 October 2019 – 3:36pm (Bay of Plenty)
Police can now confirm a homicide investigation has been launched following the death of a man at an address on Hydro Road, Edgecumbe, this morning.
Police were alerted around 8.20am.
On arrival, a 45-year-old man was found to have sustained critical injuries and died at the scene a short time later.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with assault in relation to the incident and further charges are likely.

Woman dies in hospital following crash, Komata
Tuesday, 1 October 2019 – 10:12am (Waikato)
A 20-year-old woman has died following a crash that occurred in Komata, near Paeroa, on 27 September.
Police received a report of a vehicle rolling on State Highway 26 at Komata about 7.40pm.
The woman, who was the sole occupant of the car, was critically injured and transported to Waikato Hospital.
She died in hospital on Sunday afternoon.

    Update on incident on Auckland Waterfront
    Wednesday, 9 October 2019 – 4:05pm
    Auckland City
    Police are continuing to make enquiries into an incident which occurred early Monday morning where a man has entered the water in the vicinity of the ferry terminal on the Auckland waterfront.
    The Police Dive Squad spent two days searching the area but did not locate the man. Given the length of time that he has been in the water, Police do not believe he could have survived.
    We have spoken with the Coroner and informed the man’s next of kin and for that reason we are now in a position to release his name.
    He was James Harley David Jenkins aged 24 of Auckland.
