Female Chinese tourist killed on Tongariro Alpine Crossing

Another Female Chinese tourist has been killed while hiking  near the Red Crater on the Tongariro Northern Circuit on Saturday, a report said.

Police have named the person who was killed in a workplace incident at a rural property in Meeanee, Napier on Thursday 17 October.  He was 57-year-old Falaniko Ah Lin of Napier.

Emergency services continue to work at the scene of a crash on SH 29, Lower Kaimai, in Western Bay of Plenty.
A person injured in the crash has been transported to hospital.
A second person believed to have been in the car when it crashed has not yet been located.
A shoreline search is under way and the Dive Squad has been notified.
