Two climbers killed in the Fiordland National Park last week named
They were 27-year-old Mark Herzog from the US and 25-year-old Peter Adler, whose American family lived in Dunedin.
The victims’ bodies were found in the area of Mt Sabre in the Darran Mountains on January 31, a day after they fell to their deaths, police said.

Passenger dies aboard Auckland-bound China Southern Airlines flight
Health officials and police met flight CZ305 from Guangzhou when it arrived at Auckland Airport, a spokesman said. “Unfortunately, the passenger had passed away before arrival to Auckland Airport.”

Name release – Morrinsville motorcycle crash
Police can now release the name of the motorcyclist who died in a crash near Morrinsville on Friday 31 January [later “corrected” to Sunday, 2 February.] He was 69-year-old Jean Philippe Jacquet [believed to be a French national.]

Search for Hans Christian Tornmarck: Remains of the Swedish Tourist Eludes Searchers

Hans Christian Tornmarck went missing in the Regina Creek, South Westland area in May 2017, whilst on a tahr hunting trip.

Swedish Hunter Hans Christian Tornmarck went missing [presumed dead] in May 2017
Mr Tornmarck, 27, is one of scores of foreigners who are permanently missing in New Zealand. He went hunting by himself on Friday 12 May, 2017 and was due out of the bush on Wednesday 17 May police said. The Swede, like so many other foreign visitors, went missing—permanently!
