Chinese Students Should Boycott Auckland University

Activist to speak at university after all

Rebiya Kadeer, 62, the prominent human rights advocate and leader of the Uyghur people, is of course welcome to speak anywhere in the world.  Maori know only too well the full meaning and extent of oppression by an occupying military regime, disguised as civilian.

rebiya kadeerRebiya Kadeer, 62,is a prominent Uyghur political activist from the northwest region of Xinjiang in China. She was elected the president of the World Uyghur Congress in November 2006. Living in exile in the United States, Kadeer has been active in defending the rights of the largely Muslim Uyghur minority, who she says are systematically oppressed by the Chinese government.

Rebiya Kadeer’s meeting had originally been canceled after the Auckland university refused to allow the Greens book a lecture theater on grounds of “security concerns.” Now a two-bit law lecturer,   David Williams, says the Uighur activist’s voice must be heard and, accordingly, he has booked a classroom for the her to deliver a speech tomorrow.

New Zealand establishment loves political activists like Ms Kadeer because they can hide behind her democratic credentials. It’s no irony therefore as to why so much fuss is being made to use her as a free-speech showcase, while at the same  time systematically suppressing Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand. This is nothing short of being super farcical. We are talking about a police state that sends in the paratroopers and paramilitary police to break up a gathering of a dozen people, only to criminalize them.

Overnight, they become the protector of free speech! No wonder they love Ms Kadeer so much. She is an enabler, and they are shamelessly using her political credentials to claim “normalcy” in this country. Poor Ms Kadeer. She has absolutely no idea how they are using her.

What hypocrisy, what double standards!

ZOG of New Zealand Changes Copyright Laws

Zionist-Occupied Government (ZOG) of New Zealand Enacts Draconian Changes to Copyright Laws

It can be argued that pakeha couldn’t tell individual freedoms, the right to free speech and all other human rights from a hole in the ground, but that is beside the point. The rest of us in this country know about human rights, nearly all of which we, the indigenous people of this land, have long been denied.

The law orders internet service providers to ‘adopt and reasonably implement a policy that provides for termination’ of accounts of any user deemed to be a ‘repeat infringer’ – regardless of whether the person has been convicted of violating copyright laws or not.

“The new law would mean internet service providers would have to take on the role of ‘gatekeeper’, blocking online access to anyone accused of flouting copyright laws and illegally downloading films and music.”

The law orders ISPs to disconnect internet services to any user ‘repeatedly accused’ of accessing copyrighted material online. [Source:  http://www.stuff.co.nz/4852936a11.html%5D

Opposition grows to copyright law:
Blackout campaign against web law

Disgruntled internet users are protesting changes to the copyright law, which take effect at the end of the month.

Section 92A means New Zealanders could have their connections cut by internet service providers if they are accused of breaching copyright laws.

The Creative Freedom Foundation has launched an internet blackout campaign, asking people to replace online images of themselves with a black square.

Co-founder Bronwyn Holloway-Smith says the law does not require any proof of wrongdoing, so it violates human rights. She says businesses could lose their entire internet connection if just one person is suspected of breaking the law.

Ms Holloway-Smith says people can break the law unwittingly if internet viruses on their computers download material without their knowledge.

The Creative Freedom Foundation is asking the Government to repeal or delay the law. A 10,000-signature petition will be presented to Parliament today.

Google Censorship

Google Censorship: Flagrant Violation of Free Speech!

Say “NO!” To Google Censorship

Announcement: Anti-Censorship Campaign Against Google starts

Google search engines continue to block specific searches for information on New Zeelend posted after early June 2008.

New Zeelend is a non-commercial, volunteer service public information blog dedicated to exposing the truth about New Zealand.

In 2006 Amnesty International launched a campaign against Internet censorship targeting Google, Yahoo and Microsoft for complying with Internet censorship in China. Google and the others were accused of colluding with repressive regimes like the Chinese regime to curtail online freedom.”

The Internet has become a new frontier in the struggle for human rights,” said Kate Allen, director of Amnesty’s British operations.

“Its potential to empower and educate, to allow people to share and mobilize opinion, has led to government crackdowns,” she said.

Google Operates Outside US Constitution, International Law

Two years on, and in a flagrant violation the US Constitution and international law, Google now appears to be colluding with the repressive regime in New Zealand to curtail our online freedom and our inalienable right to free speech.

Freedom of speech is being able to speak freely without censorship. The United States Constitution protects opinions under inalienable 1st Amendment free speech rights.

The right to freedom of speech is also guaranteed under international law through numerous human-rights instruments, notably under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Google is blatantly violating the United States Constitution and the international law, and therefore poses a clear and present threat to online freedom and freedom of speech in the United states and in other countries throughout the world. Google must NOT be allowed to operate in its current format.

More information will be posted here.

Constructive comments, suggestion and other information concerning this campaign may be posted below.
