Distraught friends and family of a 64-year-old man murdered in his Upper Hutt home cannot believe that anyone would want to kill him.. The man was found in his Totara Park Rd unit about 3.20pm on Wednesday after police and emergency services were called by a neighbour.

Six appear in court after man’s throat slashed
Six people were charged after an 18-year-old was hospitalised with a slashed throat in south Auckland. Five males, aged 38, 31, 19, 18 and 16, and a 39-year-old woman, appeared in court in Papakura following the attack in Marybeth Place, Papakura about 5.20pm.

A young woman is dead after a car smash near Invercargill early today. Elizabeth Daisy Moss, 19, of Invercargill was the sole occupant of a vehicle which left the road and crashed about 12.30am, Senior Sergeant Mark Lucas said.
