Two unnamed Indian tourists killed in SH1 crash
Two male Indian tourists , who were headed towards Taupo, were killed in a head-on collisions with a truck on SH1 near Tokoroa about 1.00pm.
The names of the victims were unlikely to be released today, police said.
The male truck driver, and a female passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to Tokoroa Hospital for treatment, police said.
Seven people were killed in two separate crashes near Tokoroa, including two Indian tourists and a family of five
On average, 3 foreigners are killed in New Zealand every 4 days.
The latest victims were probably the 2,594th and 2,595th visitors killed in New Zealand since January 2000.

Nine people killed on North Island roads alone in less than 48 hours
2 people killed in a head-on collision on State Highway 1 between Tawa and Churton Park, Wellington, about 8.40pm yesterday, while one more person lost his life in a crash in Kaukapakapa, about 50km north-west of Auckland minutes later.
A man and a woman also died after a two-car smash at Longburn, near Palmerston North, yesterday about 2.45pm.
Three others were taken to hospital, including two children under the age of five.
The crash happened on State Highway 56 near Karere Rd, police said.
Two Hawkes Bay men were killed in “a fiery crash” on Napier-Taupo Rd early yesterday.
Further north on Thursday night, two men were also killed when a single vehicle travelling south along McLarens Falls Road, near Tauranga, came over a slight rise, crossed the centre line and crashed into a tree in Omanawa. The impact caused the vehicle to split in two.
These were just the reported road kills on North Island roads.
British Tourist Mystery Death
Meanwhile, New Zealand Police Farce have named the British tourist who died mysteriously in the Cardrona Valley as Philip Ross Bergman.
The 26-year-old victim from Herefordshire in England died mysteriously near the Tuohy Saddle while on a mountain biking trip.
The victim’s family in Australia and the UK are said to be devastated by his death, said the police farce.
As usual, “the matter is not being treated as suspicious.”
Mr Bergman was the 2,447th foreigner killed in New Zealand since January 2000.

Young German woman killed on the West Coast
A 27-year-old German woman was killed in a car crash and her two German friends were injured on the West Coast, one with serious injuries and the other with moderate injuries, police said.
The incident occurred the Haast Highway, about 40km southwest of Fox Glacier, at 12.51pm, according to a report.
Police have not released names of any of the three victims.
“It was understood the three women had been in New Zealand since November on temporary working visas,” the report said.
This can only happen in New Zealand

An Australian woman was killed and her male companion injured while climbing in Fiordland National Park.
The death occurred at about 1.30pm Wednesday on the Korako Glacier, according to a report.
The survivor was taken to Te Anau medical centre with “non life-threatening injuries,” the police said.
The dead woman’s name has not been released.
On average, at least one foreigner will be killed in New Zealand every day throughout 2011.

Quake Death Toll Up by Only 1 ?
NZ govt is up to its dirty old tricks again, doctoring the quake fatality figures
BREAKING NEWS: Prime Minister John Key has ridiculed suggestions that he should donate some of his ill-gotten wealth to the victims of Christchurch earthquake.
As of this morning, the quake death toll stood at 76, only one more than 24 hours ago.
Here’s a summary
- Confirmed dead: 76 souls
- Missing: Up to 238 people [actual figure may be as high as 500]
- Seriously injured: 200
- Total no of injured: up to 3,000
- Police say 22 more bodies are inside Christchurch’s Cathedral Square
- Police said they will release a list of the dead and missing at 4.00pm (our time).
- Police changed it **** mind saying they will release a list of the dead and missing at 6.00pm
- The Fat Police Minister said: “We’ve got 76 at the morgue at the moment and more coming through.” [She didn’t say how many more.]
In line with New Zealand government policy of news blackout, two Japanese journalists were arrested last night when they tried to interview earthquake victims in Christchurch Hospital.

Swimming in Marlborough Sounds may cost Australian tourist her life!
An Australian tourist has been badly injured by a boat propeller as she dived off the back of the boat to go for a swim in the Marlborough Sounds.
The woman, 49, has reportedly suffered cuts to both legs and may have sustained a possible fracture after she was struck by the propeller in Waikawa Bay, Picton, this morning.
“Her condition was not immediately known,” NZPA said.
On average, two foreigners are killed in New Zealand every three days.

An Australian tourist was killed in a car crash in Rotorua yesterday
The man was at least the 24th tourist killed in New Zealand in 2010, and the 1,786th since January 2000.
New Zealand police are looking for anything by which they could pin the responsibility on the victim.
“Police are investigating the possibility the tourist had a pre-existing medical condition, which may have contributed to the crash. Officers are trying to contact his next of kin. Senior Sergeant Brent Crowe says police will report their findings to a Coroner’s inquest.” A report said.
New Zealand 2010 average fatality rate (Foreign Tourists)
Since January 1, 2010, at least two foreign visitors have been killed in New Zealand every 3 days.
