Outbreak of deadly virus plagues Greymouth dogs

Posted by te2ataria on October 13, 2016

Sent by a reader

Deadly, extremely contagious parvovirus plaguing dogs in NZ

Unvaccinated dogs in the Greymouth area have been hit hard by the spread of deadly parvovirus, since late September, said Megan Hero, a veterinarian at West Coast Vets.

There have also been cases in Hokitika, but the exposure in Greymouth has been greater, said Hero.

“Currently we’ve had about eight cases confirmed, with another two to three suspected at the moment. Sadly, many of the cases have been so severe that they’ve needed to be euthanised to prevent further suffering,” she said.

“Until very recently we’ve been fortunate not to see as much parvovirus on the Coast as other places in New Zealand. Unfortunately, an infection broke out among multiple young dogs recently, who in turn visited many other unvaccinated dogs.”

Canine Parvovirus
Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that can affect all dogs, but unvaccinated dogs and puppies younger than four months old are the most at risk. The virus affects dogs’ gastrointestinal tracts and is spread by direct dog-to-dog contact and contact with contaminated feces (stool), environments, or people. The virus can also contaminate kennel surfaces, food and water bowls, collars and leashes, and the hands and clothing of people who handle infected dogs. It is resistant to heat, cold, humidity, and drying, and can survive in the environment for long periods of time. Even trace amounts of feces from an infected dog may harbor the virus and infect other dogs that come into the infected environment. The virus is readily transmitted from place to place on the hair or feet of dogs or via contaminated cages, shoes, or other objects.

Signs of parvovirus
Some of the signs of parvovirus include lethargy; loss of appetite; abdominal pain and bloating; fever or low body temperature (hypothermia); vomiting; and severe, often bloody, diarrhea. Persistent vomiting and diarrhea can cause rapid dehydration, and damage to the intestines and immune system can cause septic shock.

Death from parvovirus
Most deaths from parvovirus occur within 48 to 72 hours following the onset of clinical signs. If your puppy or dog shows any of these signs, you should contact your veterinarian immediately.

A Queenstown resident with measles is being treated in isolation, the Southern District Health Board says.

Zombie democracy operating in secrecy

Fuck the zombies, who said you have to tell them anything?

The Ministry of Justice (Miniju), will NOT release the identities of Justices of the Peace who have been disciplined for incompetence, or committed a plethora of criminal activities:  making false allegations, misusing their title for personal gain…

“The Ministry believes the privacy of censured Justices of the Peace (JPs) outweighs the public’s right to know who they are, even though JPs from across the country disagree”, according to a report.

[Edited by a blog moderator due to the strong language used.]

The difference between the JPs and the herd in the Supreme Court? Dame Sian Elias and rest of the herd operate above the zombie laws.

One killed in motorcycle crash in eastern Bay of Plenty of Deaths

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Golf Links Rd in Whakatane Thursday morning, police said.

The State’s other Stinking Secrets

Truth about the daily road carnage on the roads hurts the massive foreign investment in New Zealand including the $10 billion tourism industry.

[The Stock of total foreign investment in New Zealand: Total investment in NZ$322.3 billion, according to the a report posted at https://www.nzte.govt.nz/en/invest/statistics/ ]

Thus, The NZ TOURISTS or truth? Campaign (police censorship of road fatalities) continues…

Blog estimate: About 900 people are killed on NZ roads each year. [Most probably] up to 507 road fatalities have occurred in NZ since 1 January 2016.

  • No of road fatalities recorded by Minitru as of July 19: Only 184

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW!

IS ALL HELL ABOUT TO BREAK LOOSE?

Magma chamber causing earthquakes

“Scientists have found a startling reason for the thousands of quakes that have swarmed around a tiny eastern Bay of Plenty settlement over recent years – a huge magma chamber lying just a few kilometres beneath it.” http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11650441

Thousand earthquakes had occurred the town of Matata between 2004 and 2011, and a 20km-square area of land around the town has been pushed up by about 40cm since 1950.

“Using a model based on modern GPS and satellite radar data, along with decades of survey records, scientists have concluded a magma body lies about 9km below the surface – and since 1950 its volume had grown by the equivalent of 80,000 Olympic swimming pools.” [Volume of an Olympic swimming pool is 2,500 cubic meters.]

GNS Science employees insist the presence of such enormous amount of magma does not mean an eruption could be imminent, nor had it changed the volcanic hazard of the Bay of Plenty region.

[However, they have failed to explain what might happen if the rate of inflation increases, or the uplift continues even at its current rate, an informed source has noted.]

“Our modelling points to the presence of a magma chamber in an area where there has been no active volcanism for about 400,000 years,” said GNS Science satellite image specialist Dr Ian Hamling.

OK! But what’s the significance of the sizeable ground uplift in recent years?

What are the probabilities of a catastrophic eruption in the Bay of Plenty region in the next 1,000 years, 100 years, 10 years, or indeed 100 days?

We have the right to know. If GNS Science people don’t have the answer, they should come clean and say so now.

President Xi,

This blog is NOT anti-Chinese. Information posted on this blog can save Chinese lives.

Why then is this blog banned in China, other than to protect the interest of corrupt officials who gain handsomely from the tourism industry?

In what way is your administration any different from the previous corrupt government in the PRC?
