One in Every 10 New Zealanders Victimised by Serious Crimes

NEW Zealand Crime Rate: Facts and Figures

Up to 1.2 million crimes were committed in New Zealand year to July 2016 [Independent Estimate]

Police, when their thumbs were removed from their nether region, recorded 11,171 more “victimisations” than the same period last year, or an increase of a 2.3 per cent. [The police figure amounts to about 486,000 victimizations in the 12 months period, or more than one in every 10 Kiwis.]

Across the country, burglaries increased by 11.9% in the twelve months to July, according to [the heavily doctored] figures published by Statistics New Zealand.

The negative trend has been exponentially deteriorating: Burglaries are up 29% over a two year period while robberies skyrocketed by 44% and assaults have increased by at least 10%.

The New Zealand Police Ass-ociation blame the total breakdown on insufficient [not incompetent, clueless, illiterate, unmotivated…] police numbers.

“While many offence types can fluctuate, burglary figures tend to be a very good litmus test of how much criminal activity is taking place in the community,” said its president, Greg O’Connor on Wednesday.

“What is clear is that the public are now becoming concerned that the crime situation is deteriorating, an inevitability after many years of under-investment.

“We are now seeing political parties, including the government, accepting there is a need to increase police numbers. But it cannot wait for an election – this government must find the money now to increase police numbers across the board so that community concerns about crime can be addressed.”

Police Minister Judith ‘Crusher’ Collins speaking through her nether region said the Government would have more police recruits SOON so that the Police could attend all burglary complaints.

Then she changed her frigging mind and expelled the following statement amid a mist of hot, noxious gasses, “police would NOW attend every reported home burglary, treating it as a ‘priority offence.'”

Police Minister misrepresents NZ crime stats

Posted by te2ataria on May 31, 2016

More than 90 per cent of burglaries, or 164 a day, go unsolved in New Zealand: Report

  • Only 6.2 per cent of burglaries were solved in Auckland.
  • No reliable stats available as to the actual percentages of crimes recorded.

The number of burglaries in New Zealand from July to April increased by 10,301 from the same period last year, according to the heavily manipulated Statistics New Zealand data published today.

Latest burglary stats reveal increase of 10,000

Every house in Masterton would have been burgled in the past 10 months if the national increase was confined to one town, the latest crime figures show.

The number of burglaries in New Zealand from July to April increased by 10,301 from the same period last year, according to Statistics New Zealand data released today.

Although the increase was only 3.2 per cent, comparing the numbers to the estimated 10,000 households in Masterton puts the figures into perspective.

Police Minister Judith Collins said drops in burglaries in the Auckland City and Wellington police districts showed commitments to solving burglaries were working.

The other 10 districts recorded increases.

In March, Auckland City police launched Operation Resolve as the direct result of the Herald’s Hitting Home coverage, which revealed more than 90 per cent of burglaries, or 164 a day [that is 59,860 unresolved burglaries for the full year,] were going unsolved in New Zealand.

Mrs Collins was yet to respond to questions about the resolution rate for burglaries in the same 10-month period.

A new recording system was introduced for burglaries on July 1, 2014 making comparisons to previous years irrelevant (!)  http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11648143

Minister of Police – Media Lies – 31 May 2016

Latest crime stats support focus on preventing and investigating burglaries [Do they really???]

Preventing and investigating burglaries is a key priority for Police says Police Minister, Judith Collins.

Ms Collins was commenting on the latest monthly crime data released by Statistics New Zealand today which show burglary offences across the country was the major contributing factor to an increase in victimisations accounting for nearly two thirds of the increase. [No overall figures are provided by the Minister in her statement.]

In the first ten months of this fiscal year (July 2015 to April 2016) Police recorded 10,301 more victimisations than the same period last year, this equates to a 3.2 per cent increase. [That is 321,906 recorded crimes in 10 months, according to our calculations based on the Police Minister’s statement.]

Crime has been counted differently since 2014 when Police introduced a new method for collating statistics on crime data; the Recorded Crime Victims Statistics (RCVS) and the Recorded Crime Offender Statistics (RCOS).

The RCVS records victimisations, which are the number of reports received of crimes that have a victim (e.g. assault, burglary, theft, etc.). A victim can be a person or an organisation.

“The RCVS lets Police see which sections of the community are experiencing the most victimisation and ensures Police prioritise staff and resources where it’s most needed.

The victimisation rate has decreased in Auckland City District by 5.8 percent and is also down by 7.9 percent in Wellington [If you don’t believe the Minister, check for yourself, search NZ Statistics!] The other ten districts recorded increases.

“One pleasing result in the latest figures is a 12.8 percent fall in the burglary rate for Auckland City. Since February, Police have focused on doing more to prioritise prevention and investigation of burglaries,” lied Ms Collins through her teeth.

[As for the actual number of burglaries, you can pick your own figure because the stats provided by NZ Statistics are heavily manipulated by police and various government agencies.]

The State’s other Stinking Secrets

Truth hurts New Zealand tourism…

Today is DAY 166 of the latest NZ TOURISTS or truth? (police censorship of road fatalities) campaign

  • Blog estimate: About 900 people are killed on NZ roads each year. [Most probably] up to 370 road fatalities have occurred in NZ since 1 January 2016

How do they do it?

Police manipulate the road toll by censoring reports of fatal crashes, while the Ministry of Transport simply delete the unwanted road fatalities, even from their own published records.
