English tourist survived Australian holiday, only to be killed in New Zealand

David Banks was “road-murdered” in a two-car collision near State Highway 1, near Oakleigh, about 2pm on Wednesday.

Mr Banks and his wife had flown from Australia and arrived in Auckland about 4am on Wednesday, and were on their way to the Bay of Islands, said Sergeant Simon Craig.

“They had been in Australia for 10 days, they had family there and had planned to tour New Zealand for six weeks. The wife is absolutely distraught, they have no family in New Zealand,” he said.

“The couple’s rental car collided with a southbound vehicle occupied by three people, all from Auckland. Both Mr Banks and the driver of the southbound vehicle were cut from the vehicles by firefighters,” according to a report. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11540602

New Zealand Police: “Tourists Lucky To Be Alive!”

Posted by te2ataria on June 15, 2008

Mr Wolfie to the Next Busload of Tourists: Hello Lunch! Do You Feel Lucky Today?

Two separate tourist buses, one carrying Japanese tourists and the other Chinese, crashed in less than 24 hours in New Zealand.

In the first incident which occurred Saturday near Matamata, New Zealand, at least 7 Japanese tourists were treated for injuries.

The second tourist bus crashed and rolled down a bank, with the bus ending up on its side on Sunday. At least 8 Chinese tourists required hospital treatment for their injuries.

Police spokesman said the crash could have been a lot worse and the tourists were lucky to be alive! [They don’t normally survive the ‘mandatory’ crash!]

Background Information:

When is an “accident” not an accident?

In all probability, as with the rental cars in New Zealand, the buses are NOT properly maintained or serviced. It doesn’t take much for a poorly maintained car, bus, quad bike, ski jet, airplane … to go out of control.

ONE MORE TOURIST KILLED IN NEW ZEALAND

Posted by te2ataria on June 13, 2008

ANOTHER ANOTHER… TOURIST TOURIST … KILLED KILLED … IN NEW ZEALAND IN NEW ZEALAND …

Folks, is this a repeat viewing of Groundhog Day or what?

The tourists in New Zealand are being murdered, killed on the roads or in entirely avoidable accidents like flies as the tourism industry laughs all the way to the bank!

We say enough killing of the tourists in New Zealand!

A 19-year-old English tourist was killed in a quad bike “accident” on a kiwifruit orchard in Katikati, media reported.

“The on-farm handling of quad bikes has been an issue raised by accident investigators and insurers. Bikes have been getting bigger and more powerful Training of riders has also been an issue.” (Source)

When is an “accident” not an accident?

In all probability, as with the rental cars in New Zealand, the quad bikes are NOT properly maintained or serviced. It doesn’t take much for a poorly maintained car, quad bike, ski jet, airplane … to go out of control.
