Armed police from hell destroy house in botched paramilitary operation
Every time police fucks up, we pay!
Napier couple were forced to abandon their home and move to a motel at public expense after their home was “destroyed” by armed police hunting a wanted man on Friday night.
Police acting Hawke’s Bay area [dickhead] commander said police received information that the hunted man, Shawn Harding, was at the address, but would not divulge details on how the information was received.
“Police acted on this information and took necessary steps to clear the property and confirm for themselves whether or not he was there,” he said.
How did they do that?
“The police just made the biggest cock-up,” said Greg Cummins, the occupant, who was ordered out of his Bristol St house in Tamatea.
“We came out of the house – guns in faces of course,” he said.
Police fired a hail of live rounds followed by flash grenades, smoke bombs and tear gas into the house, despite repeated assurances by Cummins that no one was inside. A vehicle parked on the property was also fired at repeatedly.
But police insisted they had tracked down their man.
“For three hours on the side of the road I said [to detectives] there’s no one else in the house.”
He offered to escort police in, and “kept telling them they were yelling at an empty house,” but was told it was against protocol.
