How many road deaths govt hiding today?

Hint: Add the ones listed below to the MoT figure released on Friday, check against their Tuesday tally

As of Thursday night, according to the Ministry of Transport’s own data, 16 people had been killed on NZ roads, so far this year. The figure was published Friday morning.

Since Friday morning, at least 9 other road fatalities have been reported. Here’s the list:

1. Woman killed in Christchurch crash (Monday). Canterbury Police say a 29-year-old female driver was killed when the car she was driving went out of control just before midnight and crashed on Annex Road, near the motorway. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11575972

2.  One killed in crash near Helensville (Monday). One person is dead and another injured at a serious crash on Kaipara Coast Highway near Helensville. 4. Man killed in crash on Whirinaki Rd. Derek Ricketts was killed when his car went out of control and hit a concrete toilet block on Whirinaki Rd near Bay View at round 12.30am yesterday (18 January 2016).  The fatality is the third death on Hawke’s Bay Roads in 2016. Bradley Charles Dobby from Waipukurau was killed after a crash involving a ute and a car, near Waipawa on State Highway 2 and a two-year-old girl, Sapphire Te Aroha Skipper-Hira, was killed on the Hawke’s Bay Expressway on Wednesday.  http://www.nzherald.co.nz/hawkes-bay-today/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503462&objectid=11575592

8. Friends of the teenager who was killed in a crash in central Auckland this weekend have described him as a keen comedian and an aspiring radio broadcaster.
