Kiwi of the Month, Michael Wallace, was jailed in 2007 for murdering German backpacker Birgit Brauer lost his latest appeal against his conviction and sentence, a report said.

Michael Scott Wallace received a life sentence with a minimum non-parole period of 18 years for the murder of Ms Bauer, 28, whose body was found beaten and stabbed at Lucy’s Gully, southwest of New Plymouth, in 2005.

[AT LEAST] 41 Kiwis killed by family in 2009

AT LEAST 16 children, 13 women and 12 men, 10 deaths above the national average of 10 children, 14 women, six men were killed last year

Very alarming stats indeed, especially that the real figures are much higher than the heavily-doctored government figures … more…

Picture Yourself as the Driver of the Saloon Car

It happens far more often than you think!

A 68-year-old man was killed in a crash on State Deathway 1 at Karapiro, 10km southeast of Cambridge earlier this morning, a report said.

“Police said it appeared that the victim’s northbound hatchback failed to negotiate a slight bend and crossed the centre line, colliding with a southbound saloon car. He died at the scene.”  NZPA said.

“The driver of the saloon suffered moderate to serious injuries and was taken to Waikato Hospital by ambulance.”

When she regains consciousness, if she ever does, you’ll probably hear her screaming on the hospital bed: “What did I do wrong?”

Engineer Paul O’Reilly, 24, of Otorohanga, nearly grabbed the blog’s moron of the year award.

He’s sour because has was thrown into a Brisbane jail after calling a Queensland policeman “useless.”

He asked the Aussie copper for direction and was told to “Go North!” And he thanked him by saying:  “You’re the most useless police in the world.”

A colleague in Australia unable to get hold of the police sergeant in question, asked another policeman why the sergeant became so angry with the kiwi tourist.

He replied: *&^*&^%  kiwi tourists! How dare they!  &^%$*&*&^%%$ …

Finally Violent Kiwi Tots Meet Their Match

Education authorities are warning of a deadly choking game that has reached New Zealand.

The fad, which has plagued America and Britain for years, has now made its way to Hawke’s Bay playgrounds, Hawke’s Bay Today reported.

The game involves young people hyperventilating to create a mild rush when oxygen is returned to the brain.

Sometimes children have their chests squeezed until they faint.

The choking has reportedly caused hundreds of deaths overseas.  More on this story …

He is My Pilot and He Can Fly Drunk if He Wants to: Air NZ Dolt

“Three convictions and one additional charge for Drink-Driving (and the concealment of the fact that you are a boozer) doesn’t make you a bad pilot. Pilot’s are humans, too, you know, despite what the Fat B*stard [Police Commissioner] says.” Rob Fyfe was heard thinking.

Fyfe said he trusted Mr West with his life and hoped he had overcome any problems with drink driving/drink flying, adding that  and had no issues with him remaining as a pilot with Air New Zealand.

“I have flown with him six times in the last 12 months actually.” Fyfe said.

“When you are flying a plane, even if you are legless, you are in the air. It isn’t as if you are driving on the road and you might endanger other drivers’ lives by crossing the center line … a few drinks before flying, and a few more during the flight, has never been proven to kill drivers on the road. Besides nowadays planes have autopilots.” Rob Fyfe was heard thinking.

How Air New Zealand Killed 257 People …

… and New Zealand Govt Screwed the Dead Victims’ Families

Whereas an Israeli family [allegedly] received $25m for the loss of a member in New Zealand, the average Erebus victim’s family got only $25,000.

Had the case been moved to the United States the compensations would have been considerably more: “In the US life is valued very highly by juries that award damages.” Kim Murray, a junior lawyer working for the NZ govt in 1979.

  • Both Air New Zealand management and the Air New Zealand pilot who crashed the Air NZ McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 were guilty of reckless misconduct.

  • The plane may have been used as an assassination weapon to murder one or more passengers, while making it look like an accident to prevent arousing any suspicion.

  • Why did  Sir Edmund Hillary refuse to board Air New Zealand flight 901?

Maurice McGreal, a former pilot and Civil Aviation expert said: “The Erebus tragedy would never have happened if [Jack Spence] a Civil Aviation [DC-10 inspector,] scheduled to be on board that day, had made the flight.

  • Why did Jack Spence also excuse himself from flying on Air NZ flight 901?

The Mt Erebus Air NZ disaster case MUST now be re-opened outside New Zealand to find out exactly what led to the crash.

The compensation to the victims’ families must be topped up.

Another Air New Zealand Flying Coffin Forced to Land

Flying Air New Zealand?

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Airbus Must Come Clean

The Moderators have been expecting another Air New Zealand Airbus A320 to plunge into the sea (again), based on the airline’s safety statistics, but Air France beat the kiwis to it!

The probability remains that the next major air disaster would occur as a result of an Air New Zealand Airbus crashing into the sea [with a certainty of 0.74]

Air New Zealand plane flew with cracked windshield

By MICHAEL FOX – Stuff.co.nz – Last updated 15:38 22/06/2009

An Air New Zealand plane en route from Auckland to Wellington was forced to turn back this morning after pilots noticed a crack in the cockpit windscreen.

A spokeswoman for the airline said the crack had appeared in the outer pane of the Captain’s side cockpit window.

“Pilots followed standard operating procedure and returned to Auckland as a precautionary measure,” she said.

“The aircraft landed without incident at Auckland, with passengers re-accommodated on an alternative aircraft.”

The plane is being inspected by engineers and is expected to return to service later today.

According to the Aviation Herald online, a passenger suffered a heart attack, however Air New Zealand declined to give any details.

Passengers ‘freak out’ as engine stops

By GREER McDONALD – The Dominion Post | Saturday, 27 December 2008

Passengers on an Air New Zealand Link flight forced to make an emergency landing after smoke filled the cabin say they feared for their lives because staff delayed telling them what had happened.

One engine down, the other working by nothing short of a miracle. ATR 72-500 operated by Air New Zealand subsidiary Mt Cook Airlines, should be permanently grounded.  Image: ROSS GIBLIN/The Dominion Post. Photo may be subject to copyright.

Waikato Times reporter Matt Richens, who was on the 6pm flight NZ5015, said a large bang was heard near the right engine about 15 seconds after takeoff from Wellington airport en route to Christchurch. Immediately after, the cabin began filling with smoke coming from the air-conditioning units. Read more …
