Did you know Peter Thiel screwed the NZ taxpayers out of tens of millions of dollars, while sodomizing corrupt NZ government ministers, and got a preferential citizenship, too?

The Department of Internal Affairs allowed billionaire Peter Thiel to redact key information from his citizenship file, a decision later criticised by the Ombudsman who said the saga attracted ‘public disquiet.'”

Auckland volcanic eruption CHALLENGE!

Sent by a reader:

Name SIX populated areas in Auckland region that could survive a volcanic event with VEI of 6

According to a new paper published by employees of Auckland University, even a moderate volcanic eruption could cost Auckland about $10 billion.

This field of at least 53 volcanoes underlies the country’s largest urban area, the Auckland region, which is home to 1.4 million people and responsible for 35.3% (NZ$201481.2 billion) of the nation’s GDP (Statistics New Zealand 2015).”

The paper is priced at US$39.95, even though, to the best of our knowledge, all of its authors are over-paid government employees.

The challenge:

Name SIX places in Auckland region that could potentially survive a volcanic eruption with Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 6, or the equivalent of Mount Pinatubo climatic eruption on June 15, 1991.

[Strong language removed by a moderator.]

Mount Pinatubo

The Pinatubo Ultra-Plinian eruption in Central Luzon Region, Philippines generated massive clouds of superheated volcanic materials, fast-moving avalanches of hot ash and gas, as well as extensive lahar floods that spread hundreds of kilometers across, and left about 900 people dead.

Map of the Auckland Volcanic Field (AVF) drawn by Hochstetter in 1859 and published in English in 1864.

[Strong language removed by a moderator.]

Volcanic hazards [Auckland Council]

Auckland is vulnerable to volcanic eruptions. Much of Auckland is built on the Auckland Volcanic Field (AVF), which covers 360km2 and contains at least 50 volcanoes. It is expected that these volcanoes won’t erupt again and any future eruptions will occur in new, unknown locations. Auckland has experienced volcanic ash falls from Mount Taranaki/Egmont, Taupo, Okataina, Tongariro and Mayor Island.

“Hit and Run”: Govt, NZDF accused of Afghan massacre cover-up

Heavily Censored Police Road Fatality Reports

-oo-8-oo-

NZ SAS and U.S. troops killed or wounded 21 civilians, mostly women and children, say Hager and Stephenson

New Zealand SAS and U.S. troops killed or wounded 21 civilians, mostly women and children, during a raid on two Afghan villages in August 2010, say investigative journalists Nicky Hager and Jon Stephenson in their new book, called Hit & Run, which was released in Wellington on Tuesday.

The book is based on numerous interviews with the troops that carried out the raids, as well as New Zealand and Afghan soldiers and villagers, the authors say.

“It was devastating, there were little children who were shot up, there was a … three-year-old who died in her mother’s arms with shrapnel inside her…” – Nicky Hager

The civilian massacres were apparently in retaliation for the death of Lieutenant Tim O’Donnell, who was reportedly killed in an ambush while on patrol in Bamyan province in August 2010.

Mom and Dad Never Told Me!

Lt Tim O’Donnell met his karma in Afghanistan. Wish I had caring parents, and grew up in a civilized country that didn’t glorify war!! Mom and dad never told me I could get my head blown off playing soldiers. I was only 28 when death came looking for me, but still don’t know why they had to send me there…

He was the first New Zealand soldier to meet his karma in Afghanistan, or else some of us are “born to kill” with impunity.

Young victim in a coma because of police pursuit?

Posted by te2ataria on October 22, 2016

Sent by a reader in Taranaki

Was police chasing “hit-and-run driver” when victim was hit?

A 61-year-old driver has been arrested over an alleged hit-and-run in Whanganui early this morning. The victim, Jesse Minnell, 24, was said to be in a critical/ serious condition.

How Did the Crash Happen?

Police have alleged that they were dealing with a pub fight outside the Red Lion Inn on Anzac Parade when a car swerved into the crowd and hit 24-year-old Jesse Minnell, around 2.20am. However, the nearby residents had heard nothing about the alleged brawl.

The driver is said to have left the scene in a late-model dark-blue BMW, without the police, or anyone else, noticing the licence plates!!

“Detective Senior Sergeant Neil Forlong said earlier that, while police had been at the scene at the time, they did not manage to get a licence plate number for the offending car.”

Mr Minnell’s mother and father were with him in the hospital, where they said he had been in an induced coma with bleeding in two parts of the brain.

He was earlier described as being in a critical condition.

Family friend Des Attwell told RNZ he thought the officers at the scene should have been able to get the licence plate number.

“Just sounds like very poor training to me. I mean, it’s seems like a simple procedure – if you’re pursuing a car, what’s the first thing you do? See what the number plate is, call it in. It seems somewhat remiss.”

The police were not responding to Mr Attwell’s criticism, but confirmed officers were being questioned as witnesses.

What Pub Brawl???

A manager at the Red Lion Inn said they did not want to comment.

Mike Woodhead, the owner-operator at a nearby Four Square supermarket, said he had been talking to a witness who was “shaken” from the incident.

Woodhead arrived at work at 4.45am on Saturday to find Anzac Parade had been closed off. “There were no police. It was just the security and the road workers closing the road.”

While serving customers in the morning, Woodhead said he talked to a person who witnessed the events outside the Red Lion Inn.

“I know one guy who saw it and he was a bit upset by it all. He was a bit shaken up.”

He said most neighbours he had talked to in the area had not heard any commotion during the early hours of the morning.
