New Pike video shows no sign of inferno

“New footage from deep inside Pike River Mine shows no sign of an inferno or underground fire.

“The footage, obtained by Newshub, also shows what appears to be a pair of spectacles belonging to Ben Rockhouse, the only miner working in that area who wore glasses.

“Filmed in 2011, just over a month after the fourth 2010 explosion, the footage shows the coal face of the mine, as deep as operations had got.”   http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/06/new-pike-footage-shows-no-sign-of-inferno.html

How long is “long-term” for going missing in NZ?

Police have reveled that 333 people are currently recorded as a long-term missing persons in NZ.  As usual, they have failed to be specific. How long is “long-term” for a person missing in New Zealand, one month, a year, two years…?

They also say there are 35 people currently listed as missing who they suspect have been murdered, which implies the other 298 reported as missing are, well… just missing!

Further, their figure doesn’t include hundreds of foreigners who have vanished without a trace, while visiting this country.

*****

How does someone just disappear? [Well, they don’t actually, but that’s another story!]  “It was 3am on an icy cold Waikato winter morning when devoted mum Kim Richmond reportedly got into her farm ute and drove into the night, leaving her three kids behind. Next month will mark a year since she vanished.” http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11873969
