World’s Deadliest Tourist Destination: Four bodies pulled from water in two days, fifth missing

Posted by te2ataria on February 9, 2020

Only in NZ: Two bodies found in Makarora River, one each on Ohope and Karioitahi beaches, fifth unaccounted for

Two trampers found dead in a South Island river is a “routine scenario”, despite the flagrant misrepresentations made by Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage.

First she lied by calling the incident, two trampers found dead in a South Island river, a “worst-case scenario”, despite the fact that thousands of visitors have been killed or seriously injured in NZ over the last two decades.

Sage reportedly told media on Sunday she was waiting to hear about the fate of a third person.

Then she lied again: “Police and emergency services will be doing everything in their power to find them.”

However, police have confirmed there was no search being conducted.

The victims had been hiking in the Mount Aspiring National Park—one of NZ’s top tourist deathtraps.

Two more Australians killed in New Zealand

Posted by te2ataria on January 2, 2016

More than 3,400 overseas visitors, international students, foreign workers and recent emigrants have lost their lives and about 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since year 2000.

New Zealand’s tourist death machine in top gear

The two Australian climbers who were killed in Mt Silberhorn have been named as Stuart Jason Hollaway aged 42 of Melbourne, and his partner Dale Amanda Thistlethwaite aged 35 also from Melbourne, police said.

The victims’ bodies were finally recovered from the upper slopes of the mountain. “Mr Hollaway was a highly respected and experience mountain guide and Ms Thistlethwaite was also a very experienced climber.”

RIP. Stuart Jason Hollaway, 42, and his partner Dale Amanda Thistlethwaite, 35, were killed after falling from Mt Silberhorn in New Zealand’s Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park. The victims’ bodies have finally been recovered from the upper slopes of the mountain.

The pair had been travelling in New Zealand for about three weeks, and were the second and third Melburnians to die on a mountain in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park in under two weeks.

Melbourne woman Nicola Anne Andrews, 28, was killed when she fell 300 metres from the side of The Footstool on to the Eugenie Glacier on December 23, 2015.

Nicole Catherine Leman (24) of Anchorage, Alaska, a distinguished U.S. scholar-athlete, was killed in a fall at Mount Aspiring National Park on December 9, 2015.

Distinguished U.S. Scholar-Athlete killed in New Zealand

The overseas tourist who was killed in a fall at Mount Aspiring National Park two days ago has been named as Nicole Catherine Leman (24) of Anchorage, Alaska, according to NZ police.

Nicole Leman earned the title of Distinguished Scholar-Athlete in the American Southwest Conference for women’s cross country in 2013.

Nicole was the youngest daughter of former Lt. Gov. Loren Leman and his wife, Carolyn.

RIP. Nicole Catherine Leman (24) of Anchorage, Alaska was killed in an apparent fall at Mount Aspiring National Park. She didn’t have to die this way!

More than 3,400 overseas visitors, international students, foreign workers and recent emigrants have lost their lives and about 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since year 2000.

However, instead of making the death and injury statistics readily available to the world so that the would-be victims could make an informed decision, Google, NZ Govt., and WordPress filter and bury the information posted on this blog.

Google employee killed in New Zealand

Police have named the German tourist who was killed in Mount Aspiring as 38-year-old Frank Spychalski.

Frank Spychalski-
Frank Spychalski, 38, was killed in Mount Aspiring National Park in South Westland when he fell 200 metres from a ridge, police said.  His last entry on google diary dated November 27, 2012  read: “Back on the Te Araroa and moving faster than ever.  Rented a MTB for today (well, an old wrack that hasn’t seen maintenance in years) and per chance picked a trail that’s part of the TA. Somehow NZ feels like a huge outdoor entertainment pack.”

On Google site, Spychalski has been described as an “espresso addict, software engineer & outdoor geek”.

The dead man worked for Google in Munich, Germany.

His  body was found in Mount Aspiring National Park in South Westland where he fell 200 metres from a ridge, police said.

Yet another feather in Google’s news censorship cap!

On average, 3 foreigners are killed in New Zealand every 4 days.

Frank Spychalski was probably the 2,600th visitor killed in New Zealand since January 2000.
