Person road-murdered, six others injured in head-on collision south of Auckland

At least one person was road-murdered and six others injured in  a head-on car crash south of Auckland.

Police said two people, believed to be children, were in critical condition, two others in a serious condition, and two more have suffered minor injuries.

The deadly crash occurred before 12:30pm on Sunday, on Buckland Road in Tuakau on a corner of the rural road where several other crashes have previously happened, according to a report.

A nearby resident said the crash happened was on a dangerous bend with a considerable amount of loose metal near a landfill site.

“I don’t know how they got a resource consent for it [the landfill],” said the resident. “It was an accident waiting to happen.”

A fiery two-car crash in 2009 on the same bend, about 4km north of Tuakau, claimed the lives of at least four people. The fate of a fifth victim who sustained critical injuries remains unknown. See “Crash ‘one of most horrific’ ever seen“.

Police have refused to reveal the identity of the victims, believed to be overseas visitors.

In yet another ridiculous incident…

British Tourist Mystery Death

Meanwhile, New Zealand Police Farce have named the British tourist who died mysteriously in the Cardrona Valley as Philip Ross Bergman.

The 26-year-old victim from Herefordshire in England died mysteriously near the Tuohy Saddle while on a mountain biking trip.

The victim’s family in Australia and the UK are said to be devastated by his death, said the police farce.

As usual, “the matter is not being treated as suspicious.”

Two Israeli Tourists Kill Two English Tourists

Despite the government threats, some news of the tourists deaths prove too difficult to suppress

Two English tourists were killed today on the Mossburn-Five Rivers Road after a crash involving another vehicle driven by an Israeli national.

The victims were an English man, 73, who died at the scene and his wife, 64, who died four hours later at Southland Hospital, in Invercargill, according to a report.

The two Israelis in the  other vehicle, a man and a women, both in their 20s, were not seriously hurt.

Both vehicles were hired are from the same rental car company, the report said.

It is the second crash in North Southland in three days.

NO other information was made available concerning the name and details of the car rental company.

It’s also unclear whether the deaths occurred as a result of an accidental crash were accidental, or targeted killing.

Some of the other tourists killed in the last day or so:

Fifty-one-year-old Cathryn May Carr’s life support was turned off at on Monday after she was critically injured when a car hit her bicycle from behind on Old West Coast Rd, Christchurch, on Saturday.

Abdullah Aldousari, 19, was the front seat passenger killed when the Toyota Camry he was in tried to overtake a truck and collided with an oncoming Mitsubishi on the Desert Road on Sunday.

Mr Aldousari, from Kuwait, was living and studying in Auckland. The driver of the Toyota, also 19 and from Kuwait, is in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital.

In another double fatality on Sunday, Auckland motorcyclist Steven Gorrie, 38, was killed in a crash on State Highway 1 in the Dome Valley north of Warkworth. The Japanese man riding as his pillion passenger is yet to be named.

Police are slowly releasing more of the names of Easter victims as their next of kin are informed.

New Zealand Kills Italian Tourist in Shabby Style

Posted by te2ataria on May 13, 2009

No Ferraris, No Glamor Women, No Cherubs, Not even the Sound of Heavenly Trumpets

A 31-year-old Italian tourist was killed in a head-on collision with a big “stock” truck that reduced his vehicle [described as a van] to the size of a suitcase.

The crash happened on State Highway 1 at the Katiki overbridge, about 15km north of Palmerston yesterday afternoon, the Hampden police said.

In their first report of the crash, the incompetent New Zealand police said a tourist had been killed, though they couldn’t identify him. They left it to the readers’ imagination how they knew the victim was a tourist.

They also said because the victim’s next of kin/ family has not yet been informed,  they can’t release his name.

As to what caused the crash, the police are hiding behind the routine excuse, accusing the victim of driving on the wrong side of the road. [Presumably he was playing chicken with the truck driver who got the better of him. TEAA]

The trucker was reportedly uninjured.

[The poor guy didn’t know his death clock had started ticking the moment he paid for his trip to New Zealand. He came here in warm clothing. Soon, he will be shipped out in a cold body bag.

But, that’s the same excuse they make nearly every time. And judging by the number of unidentified foreigners who are killed in New Zealand, it’s difficult to know how long they take, if ever, to contact the dead tourist’s  family in many cases. See Proudly Killed in New Zealand [Most recent toll only! Moderator.]

If there are any Italians reading this, please post the Italian translation of this message as well as the pages linked to below on your blog/ web site, or on public forums, so that the victim’s family may learn what action they could take to seek compensation from the authorities. TEAA
