A bill drawn from the parliamentary ballot requires Kiwi schools “to offer at least one other language to children under 13, and it would require schools to choose from 10 priority languages including Māori, Mandarin and sign language.”

David Joshua Stanton, 23, was killed on Parewanui Rd, near the Rangitīkei town, on September 3, but police are as usual clueless what caused the single-vehicle crash.

Thomas Field, 28, was struck by a car and killed while crossing Brandon Hall Rd and Parewanui Rd at about 4.15am e road  a day earlier, on September 2.

“One person is in a critical condition after a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 3A in Taranaki this evening.
A car and a truck collided on the highway, also known as Mountain Road, at Waiongana north of Inglewood just before 8pm.
A female, the sole occupant of the car, was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.”

Pedestrian hit by car on Koromatua Road dies

The pedestrian hit by a car on Koromatua Road, Waipa District, shortly before 9pm last night has died.
The 41-year-old man was transported to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition but later died.

Update on fatal crash in Awatoto SH2
Thursday, 6 September 2018 – 5:38pm – Eastern
The Hawke’s Bay Police Serious Crash Unit is currently investigating the fatal crash between a car and truck, which occurred on State Highway 2 near Awatoto, south of Napier about 11pm on Monday night.
The crash claimed the life of the driver of the car, 18-year-old Ava Powell.
A passenger in the car was seriously injured in the crash and remains in Wellington Hospital.

The crash involved two cars and occurred shortly after 8pm on High Street.

One person received critical injuries in the crash and a second person has serious injuries. Both have been taken to hospital.

Contrary to initial reports, only one person was taken to hospital after a serious crash in Taita, Lower Hutt, on Saturday night.

Shortly before the crash, which involved two cars and occurred after 8pm on High Street, Police had tried to stop one of the vehicles involved but the driver failed to stop. The fleeing driver subsequently collided with another car.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle suffered minor injuries and was arrested at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two people were injured, one critically, in a crash after a driver fled from police in Lower Hutt tonight.

The incident occurred shortly before 8pm on High St in Taita and involved two cars, police said in a statement.

“Shortly before the crash police had tried to stop one of the vehicles involved however this driver has fled,” the statement said. “The driver of the fleeing vehicle suffered moderate injuries and has been arrested.”
