Czech football coach killed in New Zealand

Posted by te2ataria on December 27, 2013

Death Clock started ticking for Miroslav Tvaroh, 34, when he moved to New Zealand in 2005

A body, believed to be that of the Czech football coach Miroslav Tvaroh was discovered at the bottom of Castle Rock, south of Castlepoint, on boxing day. Police say he was killed when he fell about 160 metres from Castle Rock.

Castlepoint is a small coastal town on the Wairarapa coast of the Wellington Region.

“The body has not been formally identified but Tvaroh’s family in the Czech Republic has been informed and the search for him had been called off,” according to a report.

Miroslav Tvaroh loved New Zealand to Death.

Miroslav Tvaroh lived with his childhood sweetheart, Simona Vokralova, whom he had convinced to move to New Zealand.

“He brainwashed her into loving New Zealand the same way he did, he taught her to surf so they could do it together…they weren’t married but they were going down that track,” said a close friend Phil Keinzley.

“Anybody could see they were the perfect couple, she was just 100 per cent devoted to him, so this has come as a huge shock.”

Tvaroh and Vokralova had known each other since they were children and she was devastated by his death, Keinzley said.

He had previously travelled the world [and had managed to stay alive] and represented his native Czech Republic in Futsal, a type football played on a smaller pitch and mainly indoors.

A funeral service would be held for Tvaroh but the date depended on whether his parents could fly over from the Czech Republic, Keinzley said.

“They’re totally in shock.” He said

Italian tourist skydiving in NZ hits the ground at terminal velocity

Antonino Arillotta, 38, hit the ground at speeds of greater than 120MPH and was most probably killed instantly when both his main and reserve parachutes failed to open on a skydiving flight Thursday afternoon, local police said.

The victim, who had been in New Zealand only a few weeks, was filming a commercial tandem jump in Wanaka when his NZ death clock stopped ticking.

Mr Arillotta was an experienced skydiver who had carried out almost 4000 jumps, according to a report.

On average, 3 foreigners are killed in New Zealand every 4 days.

The Italian tourist was probably the 2,594th visitor killed in New Zealand since January 2000.

Second Dutch National Killed in New Zealand in 3 Days

A 29-year-old Dutch national was killed in a 2-vehicle head-on collision north of Greymouth, New Zealand this morning.

Police earlier identified the victim of New Zealand Death Roads and defective vehicles as Helene Roosen.

Ms Roosen wrote in her on-line travel blog that she left Holland in 2007 to travel the world. She managed to stay alive in various places for two years, until arriving in Westport, New Zealand in August 2009, where her NZ Death Clock finally stopped.

Ms Roosen was reportedly applying for New Zealand residency, which she’ll no longer need.

It’s believed that her car went out of control on State Highway 6 at Rapahoe at about 8.20am, colliding head-on with a truck. She suffered fatal head and internal injuries in the “full frontal” impact crash and died at the scene, police said.
