Another fatal plane crash: Do NOT fly planes, choppers in New Zealand

How a small plane crash disrupts lives of tens of thousands of people in New Zealand!

A small plane has crashed into power lines near Wairoa, just north of Tiniroto, killing at least two people and leaving tens of thousands of homes in Gisborne District without power.

More than 20,000 customers have been affected by the outage and are likely to be without power for several days.

The plane crash has caused significant damage to the city’s electricity infrastructure (!) leaving the entire city and multiple rural areas without power, said Gisborne mayor Meng Foon, local media reported.

“It’s [destroyed at least] four major pylons [made of Chinese steel?] and 800m worth of power lines.”

Civil Defence has told people to conserve water: No power, no water!

“Keep flushing the toilet to a minimum, don’t water the garden, and the biggest advice is to prepare and think about how you’ll be cooking,” their spokesperson said.

[Translation: Do not drink or cook, refrain from urinating or defecating indoors, AND shower and bath are certainly out of the question for the foreseeable future.]

Homeless crisis: One in 100 Kiwis homeless, and counting

Posted by te2ataria on June 3, 2016

Homelessness in New Zealand skyrocketing: Study

At least one in every 100 Kiwis were homeless in 2013.

The “severely housing deprived” had accelerated from 2006 to 2013, says a study by University of Otago, Wellington.

At least one in every 100 Kiwis were homeless in 2013, this included those living with family and friends.

This figure had increased from 2006 data which showed one in every 120 people were homeless, while in 2001, this was at one in 130 people.  http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/80719962/One-in-100-Kiwis-homeless-new-study-shows-numbers-quickly-rising

Even the manipulated stats are grim:

According to rounded census numbers, in 2001 there were 28,649 people out of total population of 3,744,534 that were homeless (one person out of 130). In 2006 that grew to 33,295 out of 4,059,876 (one in 121) and in 2013 it accelerated to 41,705 out of 4,254,594 (one in 102).

“If the homeless population were a hundred people, 70 are staying with extended family or friends in severely crowded houses, 20 are in a motel, boarding house or camping ground, and 10 are living on the street, in cars, or in other improvised dwellings,” said University researcher Dr Kate Amore.

“They all urgently need affordable housing.”

The number of people in “severe housing deprivation” in 2013 was one in 100, up more than 60 percent in 12 years. Assuming the trend has continued [in fact the trend has accelerated,] there could now be nearly 50,000 Kiwis homeless. http://www.newshub.co.nz/

Meanwhile, Chinese investors are allowed to push up price of the average house in Queentown to  NZ$955,793.

I can’t guarantee housing for homeless: Social Housing Minister

Social Housing Minister Paula Bennett says there’s no guarantee that homeless families would get a roof over their heads after contacting Work and Income.

Her comments come after Prime Minister John Key said Kiwis living out of cars and garages should contact the welfare agency where they would receive support.

Bennett said Work and Income would try their best to help, but it depended on what support was available.

“Look, I can’t guarantee that,” she said on RNZhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/national/80719962/One-in-100-Kiwis-homeless-new-study-shows-numbers-quickly-rising

At least 27% of all NZ children live below the poverty line [2012 figures]
“Around 285,000 of our children (27% of all children) live below the 60% income line after housing costs, (the poverty line used by the Ministry of Social Development). Many of these children have their lifelong health and education compromised so poverty effects can persist through generations. For 3 out of 5 of those children, poverty persists over at least seven years – for most of their early formative years. Evidence shows that the longer the period on low income, the greater the harm.”  http://www.cpag.org.nz/resources-publications/our-children-our-choice-priorities-for-policy-7/part-one-child-health/

Winston Peters is on the warpath, trying to stop what he has said is a takeover of our biggest meat exporter Silver Fern Farms by the Chinese.

Mr Peters said Shanghai Maling was in fact much more in debt than the New Zealand company.

Police manipulate the road toll by censoring reports of fatal crashes, while the Ministry of Transport simply delete the unwanted road fatalities, even from their own published records.

Housing Minister ‘social cleansing’ Auckland

Foreword: There’s no crisis in New Zealand, social, housing, or otherwise, that money couldn’t solve, at least temporarily.

Homeless could be offered up to $5000 to leave Auckland: Paula Bennett

Up to 250 homeless families could be offered as much (!) as  $5,000 to leave Auckland, Social Housing Minister Paula Bennett has confirmed.

“I would say to those that are homeless that there is a chance that they could get a house in days if they were willing to look outside of Auckland.” [Out of sight, out of mind…]

The relocation policy was “one that I had thought of [all by myself] in the last week”, she said. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11644665

Helen [Crooked] Clark denies the truth in Foreign Policy article

[Do you believe Helen Clark, Tony Blair, or Donald Trump!?] The former New Zealand Prime Minister [the most heinous] Helen Clark has denied allegations in Foreign Policy article that she retaliated against a critical investigation of the [Clark-and-the-likes-infested] United Nations by driving one of the investigators out of their job are “totally fabricated”.

She has also dismissed other revelations in a Foreign Policy article published Tuesday as being  made up. [Everyone is lying, except for the Crooked Clark, of course.]

Clark’s seven-year tenure in charge of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) had “left a trail of embittered peers and subordinates”, Foreign Policy said. Her UN colleagues had accused of her of “ruthlessly ending the careers of underlings in her quest to advance her candidacy and of undercutting the UN’s promotion of human rights”.

The most serious allegation was that Clark’s senior staff had forced out American-Swedish UN official Lena Sinha after she had participated in an investigation which was critical of the UNDP’s response to mass atrocities in Sri Lanka.

The investigation, called the Petrie Report, criticised senior members of Clark’s agency, saying that they had downplayed the Sri Lankan Government’s role in killing thousands of Tamils.

After the report was completed, Lena Sinha, who had held a position at the UNDP for 15 years, was told she would “never work for the UNDP again”, according to Foreign Policy. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11644241

U.N. Secretary-General Front-Runner Faces Internal Uproar

More than four years ago, Sinha was appointed to serve as chief of staff on a high-profile panel producing a report on the mass atrocities in Sri Lanka. The Petrie report — named after the lead author, Charles Petrie, a former U.N. official and occasional advisor to the U.N. chief — provided a damning account of the U.N.’s “systemic failure” to advocate for the protection of hundreds of thousands of Tamils caught in the line of fire in the final months of the country’s brutal civil war in 2009. It criticized senior officials in New York, as well as UNDP’s leadership team in Colombo, charging they routinely downplayed the extent of the Sri Lankan government’s complicity in killing the vast majority of the more than 70,000 civilians who died in indiscriminate shelling. The U.N. team in Sri Lanka “did not perceive the prevention of killing of civilians as their responsibility — and agency and department heads at UNHQ were not instructing them otherwise,” according to the Petrie report.

Body found in van [neither suspicious, nor unexplained by Auckland standards]

A body has been found in a van in south Auckland at 7.40am this morning.

Police are said to be “inquiring into whether the death is suspicious” and whether it will be referred to the coroner. [NOTE: The writer, Catherine Gaffaney, who is a general reporter based in Auckland, is clearly implying there would be instances where the deaths would NOT be referred to the coroner!]

About 900 people are killed on NZ roads each year [Blog estimate]

The State’s other Stinking Secrets

Truth hurts New Zealand tourism. The average tourist would not visit this country, if they knew true extent of the daily carnage on our deadly roads. Therefore:

To protect the tourism industry, about two-thirds of the road fatalities in New Zealand go unreported by our political police, or unrecorded by Minitru [“Ministry of Transport”.]

About 2.7 million licensed but not necessary qualified drivers, half million or so unlicensed/unqualified drivers and more than one million tourists (per year) drive on New Zealand death roads.

A large number of the above drive a vehicle under the influence (illicit drugs, banned substances, prescription medication…), while intoxicated, fatigued or mentally unfit, resulting in inordinate numbers of fatalities and injuries. [Other factors for the carnage include deadly roads, road unworthy vehicles…]

Between 2001 and 2014, New Zealand’s vehicle fleet reportedly increased by 32 per cent, while the population grew by 16 per cent and foreign travel was up by 15 per cent.  And over the last 10 years the number of international visitors has increased by about 30 per cent.
