At least two people were killed and another injured, after a serious road crash between a car and a truck on State Highway 1, in Hukerenui, north of Whangarei, at 4.45pm on Wednesday.
Fatal crash in Bombay, south Auckland
The driver was killed when a van collided with a tree on Paparata Road in Bombay, south Auckland, at about 6:15am this morning, Wendesday [sic] 1 March, 2017, police said.
[Foreigner] killed in Springvale crash
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car on Springvale Road and State Highway 85, Springvale, Central Otago on Tuesday. The victim was a 54-year-old man. Police are currently in the process of notifying next of kin, including family members who live overseas.
Fatal crash in Glenfield
“At approximately 11.15am this morning a serious vehicle crash has occurred between a car and motorcycle on the intersection of Coronation Road and Archers Road in Glenfield, Auckland. As a result of the crash the motorcyclist has died.”
US man charged over double fatal crash
Two people were killed and four people were seriously injured in the fatal crash on SH60 on Monday 27th February, involving a light truck, a four-wheel drive vehicle towing a caravan and a rental car. “Stephen Anthony Jayes, 41, has been named as one of the victims and police said no other information is available at this time on the identity of the second deceased [who is most probably another foreign visitor.]”

“Hastings Police are appealing for information from the public regarding an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Hastings last night. A 28-year-old man has appeared in court today on a charge of sexual violation.”
Nelson Police investigate attempted kidnapping
“Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred at approximately 10.30pm last night and are appealing for information from the public. A 27-year-old woman who was walking home was approached by three men in a vehicle on Muritai Street, Tahunanui, Nelson.”
Young woman in intensive care after throat punch
“A woman remains in intensive care with a serious throat injury after she was attacked in central Christchurch.
“Amelia Rayner, 29, had left the Electric Avenue festival in Hagley Park when she was attacked at the corner of Salisbury Street and Park Terrace about 11pm on Saturday. Police suspect she was punched in the throat.”
Another 11-year-old girl grabbed on her way to school
“Police are investigating an incident in St Heliers this morning where a man has attempted to a grab an 11-year-old girl on her way to school.
“A man had been following the victim for around 200 metres on St Heliers Bay Road. When she arrived at her school the man has come up from behind her and grabbed her. She has managed to break free and has run into her school.
