At least 6 killed in fatal crashes so far this weekend

Deadly weekend on Waikato roads continues:

A 19-year-old man from the United Kingdom was killed “after the car he was travelling in flipped,” according to a report. He was the 4th person to be killed in the 2nd of two fatal crash near Taupo, and at least the 6th nationally.  http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/75044886/four-dead-on-waikato-regions-roads-this-weekend

“The car has hit a culvert and flipped and it appears he’s been thrown from the vehicle,” Taupo road policing manager Sergeant Murray Hamilton said.

“It occurred on a slight bend and for some reason he has failed to negotiate the bend and crossed the road and into a bit of a ditch which has flipped the car.”

“It looked like it had just been parked there, but the person wasn’t in the car. He was beside the car  – we’re not sure how he got out of the car.

“It did crash, had frontal damage to the car. But he was beside it.”

Three more visitors killed north of Taupo

On Saturday, three visitor (their nationalities are still unknown) were killed in the South Waikato when their car collided head-on with a heavy truck on State Highway 1.  https://newzeelend.wordpress.com/2015/12/12/three-more-people-road-murdered-in-taupo/

More international students, visitors… killed in NZ than ROW combined

Posted by te2ataria on September 6, 2015

Welcome to the world’s deadliest tourist destination!

In New Zealand DEATH becomes you

About 3,400 international students, visitors, workers… have lost their lives and 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since 2000.

Our statistical model, using multiple samples, shows that about 3,400 foreign students, visitors, workers and new immigrants have lost their lives and 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since January 2000.

More foreign visitors killed in NZ than in the rest of the world combined

Based on extensive research, the blog moderators believe that more foreigners have died in this country than in the rest of the world (ROW) combined (non-military operations), making New Zealand the deadliest destination for foreign visitors.

  • The 500 or foreigners who are missing in New Zealand without a trace, are not included in the above stats.
  • Iraq Coalition Military Fatalities between 2003 and 2015 stands at 4,811.
  • Afghanistan Coalition Military Fatalities between 2001 and 2015 is 3,493 as of posting.  http://icasualties.org/

Proudly Killed in NZ  [ https://newzeelend.wordpress.com/killed-in-nz/ ]

  • Readers will note that only a tiny fraction of  Road or “Accidental” Deaths are reported in New Zealand. That also goes for Rapes, Murders, violent crimes…
  • Starting December 2011, NZ government has again intensified the censorship of information concerning the numbers of international students and foreign visitors killed in New Zealand to protect the tourist industry (cash cow).
  • For every tourist killed in New Zealand at least FIVE others are seriously/critically injured. Names of the victims who are critically injured, for example as a result of road crash, and die later, either on the way to hospital, or while waiting for emergency treatment, remain as State  Secrets.

Killed: Yet another foreign tourist, after the one after the last one…

Posted by te2ataria on March 13, 2009

Foreign tourist killed in logging truck crash

A cyclist killed in a collision with a logging truck in the Bay of Plenty [of killings] is believed to have been a foreign tourist.

The 38-year-old was killed “on the way to Tauranga Hospital” after fully laden truck and trailer unit ran him over  on State Highway 2 near Te Puke at 5.45pm March 12, 2009.

Bay of Plenty nincompoop policeman “in charge of road policing (!)” said: “It was not yet known what had caused the collision.”

The  deceased whose body must have been reduced to a smudge on the road will remain nameless and without a nationality until his family have been contacted. Read report: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10561459

Dissemination of public information in New Zealand is on need-to-know basis (!)

Two weeks on, blog readers are still awaiting to learn details of the two Swedish women who were killed just hours after arriving in New Zealand.

[Update:  The victim was named as Stephan Stoermer, 38, of Frankfurt, who was due to return home to Germany on Friday, having cycled around the world for three years. Mr Stoermer  began his journey in spring of 2006, cycling through 20 countries, until he was killed in the Death Islands of New Zealand.]

The above was the 2009 Road Death # 100 [at least ] to date [of both reported and unreported road kills.]

Meanwhile, another cyclists who sustained serious injuries on March 3, 2009 is believed to have died in Wellington Hospital.

The above was the 2009 Road Death # 101 [at least ] to date.

‘If one half the New Zealand population were run over by fully laden logging trucks and trailers in 2009, the number of road kills recorded by Land Transport NZ would still be smaller than the total for 2008.’ —A Mr Wolfie Watcher
