Suicides on the West Coast “four times the national average”

“The fact that there are more suicides in New Zealand than deaths from drowning and car crashes combined means our fire brigade are more likely to attend a suicide than a motor vehicle accident,” said Runanga fire chief Gavin Gibbens has attended five suspected suicides in the last 18 months..

[The fire chief is clearly unaware that the stats for both the road fatalities and drownings in New Zealand are heavily manipulated. But, point taken Chief! –Moderator]

Greymouth woman Tracy Stark, who has set up an online support group and launched a petition calling for wider reporting on suicide deaths in the media, said she knew of nine people who have died as a result of suicide since Christmas.  They were either her friends or her children’s friends, she said.

Stark said she had witnessed the “devastating effect” of suicides, often exacerbated by the subject being taboo.

“I know mums who have been hushed up from speaking to the media,” she said.

She complained about the West Coast lacking sufficient mental health, substance abuse and anger management services.

“It’s an epidemic. I’m sick of suicides. I’m sick of burying people,” she said.

The “silent killer” was partly as a result of lack of jobs on the West Coast, said Chief  Gibbens.

“Alcohol and drugs exacerbates the situation . . . loss of identity in the town, relationships breaking down because of financial or drug and alcohol issues or violence,” he said.

“It’s a taboo thing to talk about but I am hoping we will put together a pamphlet about suicide awareness,” he added.

He was aware of at least 12 suspected suicides on the West Coast in the past year.

“We have a population of 30,000-odd. Nationally the figures are one in 10,000, well we have four times the national average.”

In 2015, some 569 deaths [a fraction of the actual total] were ruled as a suicide or suspected suicide in New Zealand.

How one mum has been stopped from talking about her son’s suicide

The mother, a Christchurch resident, lost her son on November 24, 2013. He was 18 years and nine months old.

“As the anniversary of his death approached, she wanted to celebrate him. She spoke to a reporter, but then, a coroner suppressed the details around her son’s death.

“The family can not be identified because as part of the suppression ruling, her son’s name may not be associated with the mention of suicide.”

Where’s the Pacific Fleet, when NZ is being invaded?

Why is America’s Fake Tension-maker in Chief silent, when the Chinese are gobbling up NZ?

Is it because Senkaku Islands [“Diaoyu Islands”] are more important than New Zealand, and Japan has a much deeper pocket to buy ever-increasing volumes of military hardware?

[Strong language edited by Moderator B.]

Chinese government majority investor in yet another dairy plant

“A state-owned Chinese company is investing in a Southland company to build a $200 million dairy processing plant with the promise (!) of creating 100 new jobs.

“Mataura Valley Milk has announced China Animal Husbandry Group (CAHB) will have a 71.8 per cent stake in the plant, 20 per cent will be held by Southland farm suppliers and the remainder by Hamilton-based milk powder company BODCO and Mataura directors.”

Who’s buying New Zealand?

“Nearly 60 per cent of Auckland houses sold to foreign buyers went to Chinese investors, new data shows.

“The data released by Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) this afternoon, [barely a day after we said Warning to all greedy Chinese gobbling up NZ houses] showed that 474 out 11,955 houses sold between January and March went to non-residents.

“Of the sales to foreign buyers, 276 houses went to Chinese residents. The next biggest investors were Australians, with 45 properties.”

Chinese tax residents snapped up 321 of those properties (29.5 per cent of non-resident purchases), followed by Australians on 312 properties (28.6 per cent).

Last year, the Labour Party prompted a public uproar after producing data which showed that up to 40 per cent of Auckland houses were being sold to people of Chinese descent, who only made up 10 per cent of the city’s population.

Labour’s estimate was based on people with Chinese-sounding surnames and did not differentiate between non-residents and residents.  [Their estimate was probably correct because Chinese government and wealthy investors always use surrogate buyers for a variety of reasons. Moderator B.] http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11636711

Note: Official stats don’t include properties owned by companies, or the Chinese residents who are being used as surrogate buyers!

How Much Land?

About 800,000 hectares of land has been sold [directly] to foreign investors from China, US, Israel [paid for by the money received from US aid programs and various other grants,] UK and Switzerland since 2012.

WHY are so many overseas visitors killed on NZ roads?

Posted by te2ataria on September 29, 2015

How many of these cars end up being driven by overseas visitors?

“Australia sends written-off cars to NZ”

About 60 per cent of second hand cars imported from Australia are written-off, according to The New Zealand Transport Agency, says a report.

“In Australia a statutory write-off means the car has suffered damage so serious it can not be deemed roadworthy, or registered in that country again.”

Since 2011, on average, 3 foreigners have been killed in New Zealand every 4 days, many of them in vehicle crashes. We believe, most of the unnecessary deaths occur because a large percentage of vehicles driven on New Zealand roads are defective and road unworthy.

Father dies weeks before son’s body found
“The father of a teenage climber who was lost on Canterbury’s Tasman Glacier more than 40 years ago died just weeks before the discovery of what is believed to be his son’s body.

“David Moen was 19 when he was swept away by an avalanche near the Tasman Saddle on September 16, 1973. Moen, of Invercargill, had been climbing with Australian William Richards, 64, said a report.

Many people have lost their lives on NZ mountains. At least 62 people have gone missing in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park alone since 1907 and never been found. However, seasonal melting of the Tasman Glacier this year has so far revealed the remains of a second missing climber.

“The second set of human remains was recovered last week from the bottom of the Hochstetter ice fall as it entered the Tasman Glacier. No details on the possible identity of that person were available yet but police said the two discoveries were from separate incidents and not related.”

Keys taken off tourist who caused back up to take photos
A Dunedin vigilante [“nutter”] took car keys from a tourist who had stopped to take photos on Otago Peninsula, causing eight vehicles to back up on the narrow road, said a report.

“It is at least the fifth time a driver has taken the keys off an overseas tourist in recent weeks, with police urging the public not to take matters into their own hands.”

At least 95.8 percent of all fatal crashes on New Zealand “death roads” are caused by kiwi drivers.

NZ Road Kills: Who is Telling the Truth?

Posted by te2ataria on January 4, 2009

NZ’s Road Toll for 2008 was 557, NOT 359

According to the perfidious pakeha’s  Ministry of Transport, the road toll for 2008 was 359.

However, our govt employee whistleblower says the true figure was at least 557 fatalities. Our expert statistician confirms the larger fatality figure of 557, and so does the holiday road toll.

Dead people tell lots of tales!

At least 16 people died on the roads in the Christmas holiday period 2007 which ended at 6am January 3, 2008 [At least 7 more than the previous year.]

The death toll for 2008-2009 holiday season, which will end tomorrow morning, stands at at least 21 [reported] fatalities so far. This figure is already 31% higher than last year’s, and counting.

Taking the holiday season as a representative sample, it’s clear that our whistleblower friend as well as our expert statistician are telling the truth, as  the Ministry of Transport charlatans continue cooking the numbers.

[January 5, 2009] UPDATE : The road fatalities for the holiday season were 24 reported deaths, an increase of 50% on last year’s reported 16 deaths.

[January 9, 2009] UPDATE : Holiday road toll continues to rise- now 25 dead. [Another 30 or so fatalities were reported during the holiday period, including death by drowning. ]

[January 15, 2009] UPDATE : The holiday road toll now stands at 26, after a man died on Friday from injuries sustained during the holiday period. [NZPA]
