Road-murdered in New Zealand
This blog has adopted the term “road-murder” to describe the demise of inordinate numbers of people killed on NZ roads. Most of the fatal crashes occur as a result of one or more of the following factors:
- Motor vehicles unworthy to be on the roads,
- Poorly designed and shabbily constructed roads, and/or
- Collisions caused by others driving under the influence.
[A tiny percentage of fatal collisions in New Zealand are caused by overseas visitors due to unfamiliarity with the road system (driving on the left), defective rental cars, or jet lag and travel fatigue.]
