Shame on the Indian Government

More Indian students killed in NZ than in any other country, without so much as a single protest

To Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India:

Will you have stayed this quiet, dead silent, if so many Indians were killed in Pakistan, you hypocrite? More steam rises from a pile of compost, than your government. How much longer do you intend to suck it up to your old colonial masters? Come on, do something! Say something! It’s high time to show if you have b*lls.

Another Indian student murdered in Auckland

Posted by te2ataria on May 14, 2015

The blog moderators strongly believe that the murder of 21-year-old Indian student Manjeet Singh was racially motivated.

Body on Mission Bay beach identified: Police

The man found dead on Mission Bay beach yesterday morning (13 May 2015) has been identified as 21 year-old Manjeet Singh, an Indian national who was  in Auckland while on a student visa, police said.

Police said their inquiries into how the victim came to be dead in the water are continuing “and officers will be examining CCTV footage, bank and ‘phone records to try and establish his movements and who he was with in the city on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.”

The victim was at the Britomart McDonalds shortly after 1am yesterday, according to the police report.

Anyone with information about Mr Singh, should contact Detective Sergeant James Robson at Glen Innes CIB.

A post-mortem examination was held earlier today to establish the circumstances around Mr Singh’s death, the report said.

Another Indian student killed in Auckland

Posted by te2ataria on November 5, 2013

“I love you bro”

Those were the last words Eddie Lo said to his friend Tarun Asthana before his life support was switched off in Auckland City Hospital on Monday.

Tarun Asthana, 25, died yesterday after being punched outside McDonald’s in downtown Auckland’s Queen St early Saturday morning. He was returning from a night of clubbing with friends when he was punched and knocked to the ground, according to reports.

Tarun Asthana, 25, was studying to be a teacher. He never expected his life would be cut short this way.

“He was a kind, loyal, fun-loving guy. He was always respectful and nice to be around,” said his former employer, restaurant owner Garry Bates.

“He was always very reliable, just a nice guy. I liked him, I’m very sad.”

His friend Eddie Lo, who was with him when he was viciously attacked, said Asthana’s death was “heartbreaking” and he had to keep telling himself “you’re in a better place now“.

Grenville David McFarland, 27, a sailor in NZ Navy (!) was charged with assaulting Asthana in the Auckland District Court on Monday. Police said they might consider upgrading the charge!

He was granted bail and ordered to return to court on 15 November.

“Auckland Mayor Len Brown says there has been progress in making central Auckland streets safer, but admits more work needs to be done to prevent deaths like that of Auckland student Tarun Asthana.”

Unfortunately, Mr Athana wasn’t available to comment on Mayor Brown’s statement.
