Heavy rains, strong winds causing widespread disruption to transport, localised flooding and slips  –MetService

A state of emergency has been declared in Timaru due to the threat of rising rivers forcing more water into flooded areas, as the southern Canterbury city receives the entire month of July worth of rain in just 8 hours.

Up to 200mm of rain could fall in Canterbury and Dunedin through Saturday, while floodwaters are already threatening homes in the towns of Ashburton, Timaru, Rakaia, Methven and St Andrews.

Homes in Ashburton and Oamaru were flooded Friday morning as rising floodwaters submerged streets and bridges.

Emergency officials urged South Canterbury residents living near flood-prone areas to prepare for evacuation.

Many incoming and departing flights to and from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and Dunedin have been cancelled due to “extreme weather”…

Police thugs get a hard on when they murder someone or destroy homes?

Armed police from hell destroy house in botched paramilitary operation

Every time police fucks up, we pay!

Napier couple were forced to abandon their home and  move to a motel at public expense after their home was “destroyed” by armed police hunting a wanted man on Friday night.

Police acting Hawke’s Bay area [dickhead] commander said police received information that the hunted man, Shawn Harding, was at the address, but would not divulge details on how the information was received.

“Police acted on this information and took necessary steps to clear the property and confirm for themselves whether or not he was there,” he said.

How did they do that?

“The police just made the biggest cock-up,” said Greg Cummins, the occupant, who was ordered out of his Bristol St house in Tamatea.

“We came out of the house – guns in faces of course,” he said.

Police fired a hail of live rounds followed by flash grenades, smoke bombs and tear gas into the house, despite repeated assurances by Cummins that no one was inside. A vehicle parked on the property was also fired at repeatedly.

But police insisted they had tracked down their man.

“For three hours on the side of the road I said [to detectives] there’s no one else in the house.”

He offered to escort police in, and “kept telling them they were yelling at an empty house,” but was told it was against protocol.

Official manipulation of suicide rates in NZ partially exposed

Posted by te2ataria on May 29, 2016

Foreword: Truth is regarded as a dangerous, alien chimera, disallowed to not burden the minds of New Zealanders!

‘Number of suicides may be three times as high as recorded’

The official suicide rate has increased from 11.73 in the year to June last year to 12.27 (for every 100,000 people) this year.

However, the country’s suicide rate may be [at least] three times as high as official figures suggest. The latest statistics put New Zealand’s suicide rate at only 570 for the whole year.

But Timaru GP Dr Oliver Bourke told Fairfax Media coroners won’t rule a death as suicide unless it’s very clear the person intended taking their own life.

Dr Bourke said deaths will be classified in a different category, such as an accident, or the cause will go down as undetermined – what’s known as an “open verdict”.

Heavily manipulated statistics show that 564 people committed suicide in the year to June 2015, up from 529 in 2014.

However, this is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg. What Dr Bourke probably doesn’t realize is that the overall figures are subject to several other rounds of manipulation by government officials before they are published.

But kudos to DR Bourke for speaking out.

The State’s Stinking Secrets

Truth hurts New Zealand tourism. The average tourist would not visit this country, if they knew true extent of the daily carnage on our deadly roads. Therefore:

To protect the tourism industry, about two-thirds of the road fatalities in New Zealand go unreported by our political police, or unrecorded by Ministry of Transport [“Minitru”.]

About 2.7 million licensed drivers, half million or so unlicensed/unqualified drivers and more than one million tourists (per year) drive on New Zealand death roads.

A large number of the above drive a vehicle under the influence (illicit drugs, banned substances, prescription medication…), while intoxicated, fatigued or mentally unfit, resulting in inordinate numbers of fatalities and injuries. [Other factors for the carnage include deadly roads, road unworthy vehicles…]

Between 2001 and 2014, New Zealand’s vehicle fleet reportedly increased by 32 per cent, while the population grew by 16 per cent and foreign travel was up by 15 per cent.  And over the last 10 years the number of international visitors has increased by about 30 per cent.

Today is DAY 153 of the latest NZ TOURISTS or truth? (police censorship of road fatalities) campaign

  • Blog estimate: About 900 people are killed on NZ roads each year. [Most probably] up to 345 road fatalities have occurred in NZ since 1 January 2016

How do they do it?

Police manipulate the road toll by censoring reports of fatal crashes, while the Ministry of Transport simply delete the unwanted road fatalities, even from their published records.

Top 3 in New Zealand: methamphetamine, gang rapes and road-murders

‘More Marlborough home buyers requesting methamphetamine test before sale’

Just how much meth are we producing, importing and taking in this country?

“At that stage people didn’t really know about meth. Every six weeks he’d sort of convulse in the corner of the room. The hospital didn’t know what was wrong with him.”

Homes affected with methamphetamine were a serious heath risk to tenants, and absorbent materials like carpet could retain a potent level of the drug, Brereton said.

“The impact on the home is very real,” he said.

“If you’ve got newborn kids crawling round, it can make them very sick very quick. It’s quite a frightening problem.”  http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/77546716/More-Marlborough-home-buyers-requesting-methamphetamine-test-before-sale

Massive amounts of methamphetamine and dextromethamphetamine are trafficked and sold in this country as more and more people use them for their aphrodisiac and euphoriant properties.

Methamphetamine use also has a high association with anxiety, depression, methamphetamine psychosis, suicide, and violent behaviors, experts say.

Correction: A French and a British tourist receive official NZ welcome

Two male tourists were attacked at the Vagabond Backpackers Hostel in Christchurch.

Blood covers the driveway at a central Christchurch backpackers where two tourists were attacked by a group of people.

The tourists were attacked by up to eight people in the driveway of the Vagabond Backpacker Hostel on Worcester St between 2.30am and 2.45am on Saturday.

Both men have been admitted to hospital. One suffered a broken jaw, while the other has serious eye injuries.

The tourists were believed to be from France.

A Belgian tourist who is staying at the hostel, said he was asleep last night during the attack but had heard what happened from other backpackers.

He said a French man had been waiting for a taxi outside the hostel when a group of locals walked past.

“The guy was getting harassed and yelled and his mates came out [of the hostel]. They tried to help him, but I think they didn’t helped.

“There was a lot of blood this morning.”

Another French tourist said “a lot of people were talking about it this morning” at the hostel.

Police car rolls after third car chase of the night in Northland

Three police chases in Northland ended with one patrol car sliding off the road and rolling, police said.

Police said the first chase began at 12.25am on Sunday when a car failed to stop for officers on Western Hills Drive in Whangarei.

The chase was abandoned for safety reasons but police began chasing the car again after it was spotted in Hikurangi, 20 minutes north of Whangarei.

The driver fled on foot at Waiomio Rd, 36km north of Hikurangi, but he was soon located by a police dog handler.

At 1.10am, there was another pursuit of a car stolen from Marsden Point, on the coast south of Whangarei.

The third dramatic chase occurred about 2.20am when an officer from Dargaville, who had been assisting with the second chase, spotted a 4WD vehicle towing a trailer without tail lights.  http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/70750597/police-vehicle-rolls-after-third-car-chase-of-the-night-in-northland

Credit: MAARTEN HOLL/The Dominion Post.  The new police car came to an early end as the driver wrapped it around a streetlight in central Wellington August 2009. Figures issued to The Dominion Post under the Official Information Act show that 734 police cars crashed in 2009, including 61 that crashed while pursuing speeding vehicles… About 100 police cars were written off in the five years to January 2010 at a cost of more than $3 million.

A death a day from police chases

In the U.S., more than 5,000 bystanders and passengers have been killed in police car chases since 1979, and tens of thousands of others were injured as officers repeatedly pursued drivers at high speeds and in hazardous conditions, often for minor infractions, a USA TODAY analysis shows.

“The bystanders and the passengers in chased cars account for nearly half of all people killed in police pursuits from 1979 through 2013, USA TODAY found. Most bystanders were killed in their own cars by a fleeing driver.”

In the state of Arizona [pop: ~ 6.8 million,] some 354 people were killed in police chases between 1979 and 2013, about 3 percent of the 11,506 deaths nationally, according to the report.

Based on information acquired from various sources,  the blog moderators believe that the rate of kill in police chases is probably higher in New Zealand than in the U.S.

Do the authorities cook the casualty figures?

At least 11,506 people, including 6,300 fleeing suspects, were killed in police chases from 1979 through 2013, most recent year for which [National Highway Traffic Safety Administration] NHTSA records are available. That’s an average of 329 a year — nearly one person a day.

But those figures likely understate the actual death toll because NHTSA uses police reports to determine if a crash was chase-related, and some reports do not disclose that a chase occurred.

Kansas, Michigan and Minnesota state records all show more chase-related deaths than NHTSA shows for those states.

“It’s an embarrassment,” said Geoffrey Alpert of the University of South Carolina, a leading researcher on police pursuits who has done numerous Justice Department studies. NHTSA records “are the only national database we have on these fatalities, and it’s been consistently wrong.”

The number of innocent bystanders killed is impossible to pinpoint because hundreds of NHTSA’s records fail to show whether a victim was killed in a car fleeing police or in a car that happened to be hit during a chase.

Analyzing each fatal crash, USA TODAY determined that at least 2,456 bystanders were killed, although the death toll could be as high as 2,750. The newspaper found that 55% of those killed were drivers fleeing police. They ranged from armed-robbery suspects to a 10-year-old boy chased as he drove a pick-up truck 85 mph on a county road before hitting a tree, killing himself and his 7-year-old passenger.

“Injuries are even harder to count because NHTSA keeps records of only fatal crashes,” said the report. http://www.azcentral.com/longform/news/2015/07/30/police-pursuits-fatal-injuries/30187827/
