Killed in NZ’s Top Tourist Deathtraps

“Kiwi dies on Tongariro Crossing” Feb 14, 2020
A three-day rāhui has been put in place after a Kiwi man died halfway up the stairs of the Tongariro Crossing.

“The Tongariro Crossing is one of New Zealand’s most popular hikes spanning 19.4 kilometres of the Tongariro National Park. It’s considered one of the most dangerous walks in the country.”

Tourist-Hunting Taniwha?
“In just nine months in 2019 (between April and December) at least 11 people died while tramping in the Tararua Range, Arthur’s Pass, the Remarkables, the Tongariro Northern Circuit, Nelson Lakes National Park, Mount Lancelot, and the Routeburn Track.”

Multiple Fatalities
“A recent analysis conducted by Mountain Safety Council (MSC) found the Tongariro Alpine Crossing had the most safety incidents over nearly a decade. In total there were 293 incidents – a combination of fatalities, search and rescues, and injuries – compared with 52 on the Mount Taranaki Summit Route, and 47 on the Milford Track over the same period. The exact number of fatalities for each track wasn’t yet known by MSC.”

Deadliest Places
“The most fatalities occurred in Southland, followed by Queenstown Lakes and Tasman, Westland, the Tararua Ranges, Aoraki/Mount Cook, and Central North Island, Taranaki and Auckland.”

Agent Orange Revisited

The following may offer some lateral insight into chemical warfare:

The use of Agent Orange has been controversial in New Zealand, because of the exposure of New Zealand troops in Vietnam and because of the production of Agent Orange for Vietnam and other users at an Ivon Watkins-Dow chemical plant in Paritutu, New Plymouth. There have been continuing claims, as yet unproven, that the suburb of Paritutu has also been polluted; see New Zealand in the Vietnam War. There are cases of New Zealand soldiers developing cancers such as bone cancer but none has been scientifically connected to exposure to herbicides. A controversial television documentary was broadcast in New Zealand on TV3 called “Let us Spray”. As of 2019 this documentary can be found on YouTube. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-IZDcSAzoU)

Olympics officials: Coronavirus outbreak even God himself won’t be allowed to cancel Tokyo Games

The 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will not be interrupted by the coronavirus outbreak, Japanese organizers said Thursday.
Yoshiro Mori, the head of Tokyo’s organizing committee , told reporters the Games will go ahead as planned, starting July 24.
“I would like to make it clear yet again that we are not considering a cancellation or postponement of the games,” he said. “Permit me to make that crystal clear.”

“We have unexpected issues to deal with, such as the coronavirus. We look forward to hearing from the Japanese government … to ensure the athletes and people who come to the Games are not going to be affected and that all precautions are being taken,” the former Japanese prime minister added.

Japan reported its first death from the outbreak on Thursday and has one of the fastest rates of infection outside China.

The Final Destination: Another visitor killed on Mt. Tongariro

Posted by te2ataria on October 2, 2018

NZ government (police and Ministry of Resurrection) under-report number of road fatalities in the same way Puerto Rican officials (US Govt) misled the world following Hurricane Maria. Death toll from the deadly storm was reported as only 64, instead of 2,975 as scientifically estimated. About two-thirds of road fatalities in NZ go unreported, or unrecorded! One Man’s Stand Againt One Evil Government

Posted by te2ataria on August 27, 2009

‘He’ll die to protest against deadly 1080 poison drops’

This is about a Taupo man’s passionate campaign against the evil pakeha government’s indiscriminate use of the deadly 1080 poison drops on Maori lands.

As the 50-year-old cancer-stricken Chris Short spent his fourth night camping on Mt Tongariro, continuing his protest against the use of the deadly 1080 poison, his wife said her husband may never leave the mountain.

His daughter, Teryl, 20, joined him yesterday on the northwestern slopes of the mountain.

Wife Leanne reportedly spoke to him by cellphone yesterday. “He sounds good but he is not coming down,” she said.

Mrs short said her husband had told her that, “he will stay on the mountain until he dies.”

“Mrs Short said her husband was about halfway to where he had spent a previous protest 14 years ago.”  Stuff NZ reported.

She plans to join him in his mountain hideout in he next couple of days, she was quoted as saying.

“He has a lot of mental strength but he is very weak physically. He hasn’t been able to move a lot around the house with the illness,” she said.

“He needs a bit of quiet time on his own. If he did not have the illness, I would not be worried about him.”

“He wants New Zealand to know what is happening in the forests when the poison is spread,” she said. “He is distressed and frustrated at what is going on in [this] country.”

“In 1995 Mr Short was jailed for two years for hijacking a helicopter and forcing the pilot to fly him into the Tongariro National Park to protest against 1080 being used.” Report said.  More …

New Zealand uses 9 times more deadly 1080 poison than the rest of the world combined!
