Another Day, Another Chinese Killed in New Zealand!
Min Loke Wong, 52, a Chinese Consultant in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation was Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances in Hamilton New Zealand
Wong was found dead at Waikato Hospital on Wednesday morning, but the police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Wong, a car and wine enthusiast, and a friend were due to drive to Auckland and were booked in to dine at an expensive Auckland restaurant. He had also talked repeatedly to his friends about visiting his sister in Melbourne for her birthday.
Wong, a successful doctor who worked for more than 20 years at Waikato Hospital, had a large circle of friends. According to his friends, Wong was in perfect mental and physical health.
One of his friends said that Wong was a “generous” and “Honorable” man who never took offense and always helped people. “He never did private work like a lot of doctors do in order to make more money. He always said that if he went and did that there would be no one to do his job in the public hospital and ‘what would he need extra money for?’. So that’s the kind of guy he was. He had a public service ethos which these days is a little bit rarer than it used to be.”
