Operation Daleyza – Man charged with Murder
Police investigating the death of Lena Zhang Harrap have charged a man with Murder.
A male was located in a vehicle in Papatoetoe at around 1.30am and was arrested, police said.
“The man, aged 31, has been charged with Murder and Sexual Violation and will be appearing in the Auckland District Court today.”

Rape and murder victim Lena Zhang Harrap has been remembered fondly by the Mt Albert community for her “infectious smile”, a report said.
“Lena has Down syndrome and is vision impaired, and police and her family are worried about her welfare and want to make sure she is safe,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.
Zhang left her Mt Albert (Auckland) home going for a walk about 6am on Wednesday, but failed to return and was reported missing by her family just before 1pm, police said.
Her violated body was discovered later that afternoon.

A body found at the Manawatū Estuary is likely to be the Japanese fisherman Toru Mizokawa, 49, who went missing in Palmerston North six weeks ago.
He was reportedly fly-fishing on Manawatū River in Palmerston North on August 7.

Joseph Jenkins, aged 20, from Australia was the man who was killed [in an apperent hit and run incident] on Owairaka Valley Road, Te Awamutu on Thursday morning, police said.
Joseph was in New Zealand studying and was attending an outdoor adventure camp in the Te Awamutu area at the time of his death.
“Enquiries undertaken so far indicate that Joseph was walking along Owairaka Valley Road when he was struck by a vehicle, causing fatal injuries,” a cop said.

Kenny Cordova Espinosa, 26, a nursing student from the Philippines, drowned at Whangārei Falls in January 2019 while having an afternoon swim with friends.
