UPDATE: The badly battered body of the victim was found stuffed in a “suitcase” inside the boot of her car, a police insider told the blog. It’s very troubling that the policeman in charge of the “investigation”, who knew the victim was murdered, said the death was being treated as “unexplained”. Gimme a break! –Blog Editor Edmund.

Body found in search for missing Chinese businesswoman
A body has been located in the search for a Chinese businesswoman Ying Zhong reported missing from Counties Manukau East today, police said.
The body was located in a vehicle close to her home in Sunnyhills, Auckland, earlier this afternoon. However, identification is yet to be confirmed.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained (!) and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances, police said.

Chinese businesswoman Elizabeth (Ying) Zhong, 55, was reported missing on Saturday morning and police later confirmed they had found a body. Identification of the body is yet to be confirmed.
On Sunday, a neighbour told Stuff Zhong’s house was a bit “mysterious” with people coming and going.
Her ex-husband, Frank Fu, had earlier told reporters he did not know what had happened but feared foul play.
“I think … maybe she was murdered.”
Fu, Zhong and their daughter, who now works for Treasury in Wellington, came to New Zealand in 1997 for what Fu said were research jobs.
