More people having sex with horses in Switzerland than ever before
Some 1,709 incidents of abuse against animals were reported in Switzerland in 2014, up from 1,542 from the previous year, according to reports.
Source: Daily Mirror. Image may be subject to copyright.
At least 105 cases of cruelty to horses were reported in Switzerland in 2014, about 10 percent of which involved zoophilia, according to Andreas Ruttimann, a legal expert with Tier im Recht animal welfare group.
There are an estimated 110,000 horses living on Switzerland’s 18,000 farms, and many of the abuse cases may go unreported, given that so many people in the country are involved with equestrian activities.
Gender breakdown of the sick abusers was not reported by the group.

Thanking you in advance for a prompt reply.

Wellington assault victim had three plates inserted in his face
At least 141 people reported being assaulted by strangers in Wellington in the year to August 2015. In comparison 87 were assaulted in the Hutt Valley, 27 in the Wairarapa, and 45 in the Kapiti-Mana area, said a report. The national total was not reported, but based on the above the number would be about 2,500 people this year.
This follows the [racially-motivated] attack on Tony Winitana, a 19-year-old Wellington design student, which left him severely injured.
Winitana was attacked by a group of strangers earlier this month. “[He] needed surgery on his broken jaw and has had three plates inserted in his face as a result of the beating by two of the group, which has left him unable to eat solid food, and forced him to take a week off work,” according to a report.
“We just walked into the wrong group,” Winitana says. “I guess I said a couple of things that might have ticked them off, but I was told by the police that didn’t give them any reason to assault me.” Photo Credit: ROSS GIBLIN/FAIRFAX NZ
Police told French victim they would not investigate without a Kiwi contact number
Just days after hitting Kiwi soil, Frenchman Anthony Cressend was attacked by strangers at a Northland campsite – left battered and bleeding on the ground with a thrice-broken jaw and kicked-in teeth. Police told him they would not investigate without a Kiwi contact number.

“Irish visitors [also] fair game”
Police say they are investigating a [serious] assault in which four Irishmen were attacked and injured on a city street in Invercargill, in December 2010.
Robbie O’Brien, 31, was attacked by a group of muggers in Westport, New Zealand in a separate incident. He suffered cuts to his face and needed hospital treatment.
Eight English and Dutch tourists, including two women, while walking through a shopping mall in the center of Christchurch on Saturday, were attacked by five knife-wielding New Zealanders in their late teens to early 20s. Six of the tourists were stabbed and required hospital treatment, one with critical injuries.
A 27-year-old English tourist was seriously sexually assaulted [syn: RAPED] while walking at a beauty spot (!) near Bay of Islands. The victim was dragged from the track and raped by a white male in his mid to late 30s.
The latest rape incident occurred in the same place where a honeymooning Dutch couple were viciously attacked over a year ago. The Dutch couple were tied up; the bride was raped by the attackers, while her husband was made to wstch, and the couple were later forced to withdraw money from an ATM to pay the rapists.

Let us be fair. New Zealand would drive Mother Teresa over a cliff. They’d sell her some land for a hospice for the dying, make it impossible for her to run it with too much red tape, taxation, miscellaneous acts of larceny and passive-aggression, repossess the property with her equity in it, make it available at a reasonable price to a friend of the agent, then deny her permanent residency because she was too old and boot her back out to Calcutta, minus her habit and any spare coins she may have had jingling in the pockets thereof.
And it’s not even their land. Ha!

How Life in Blackball, New Zealand, Drove Scotsman to Insanity
Meet Peter Lamont, the Butcher of Blackball.
Peter Lamont, driven to insanity, butchered his wife. Photo: Greymouth Star. Image may be subject to copyright.
Peter was an ordinary Scotsman, that’s until he arrived in the poxy, coalmining town of Blackball, New Zealand—population: 370 – 1.
That’s right. 370 – 1 tormented ‘ghosts.’ The missing one is Peter’s 49-year-old wife Lindsay Jane Lamont. Peter mutilated her body with a butcher’s efficiency!

December 1, 2009 . I imagine he had problems socially integrating in a remote rural town like that. He may have taken out one of those famous 15-ton mortgages for a freezing coal miner’s shack, and did not have the financial problems of the previous owner for that reason. Kiwis have a different work ethic. It would be easy to understand how the Scots people did not settle. Very sad. So many migrants are lured down here by irresponsible public relations campaigns. The casualties will no doubt continue until they front up about what Godzone is really like. Kiwis are gormless about how good life is outside of this island.
Sympathy.

December 5, 2010 . The vibe of New Zealand is eerie. It seems dead when you first try to tune into it. That is just the surface though. So many repressed and wound-up angry stressed people not expressing anything or putting anything out into the air, and if you can’t zip your lip, toughen up and stop yourself from bursting you will go over the edge. I was not surprised to have a few medical personnel tell me a lot of migrants who could not leave ended up taking anti-depressants to cope. It takes all your effort to fit in, if you have not been brought up to it. I have found they all march to some kind of common script I could never follow or learn in which there is only one thing to say in any given situation, and if you don’t say “exactly that”, you are immediately identified as a dangerous outsider because they don’t understand how to relate to you. It is too much effort. I’d have to shove every bit of personality I have down into my shoes, and I still couldn’t do it. I would rather be alone! And I live in a place where there is a wee bit more diversity than usual, too. New Zealand is…Rhoda Penmark!
Life Sentence – to serve 14-and-a-half years
Peter Lamont will spend a minimum of 14-and-a-half years behind bars after being imprisoned for life in 2010 for murdering his wife Lindsay in their Ikamatua home a year earlier.
Lamont was drunk when he killed his wife, and later tried to commit suicide by sleeping with the car running in his garage after realising what he had done when he returned to the house and discovered the body the next morning.
“He drove 50km to Greymouth to buy a burger from McDonald’s, then bought some clothesline, which he used in an attempt to hang himself, but the rope stretched.” http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10694738

The following statistics were sent by a reader:
Tourists more likely to be killed by terrorists in France, or while visiting New Zealand?
The following statistics cover the period between January 2000 and November 13, 2015.
Terrorist Attacks in France
Some 17 acts of terrorism have occurred in Paris between the year 2000 and November 13, 2015 including shooting, bombing, stabbing, vehicle ramming and suicide bombing, claiming the lives of 163 people (terrorist casualties not included), and leaving 440 others injured.
- According to the best data available, 42 of the victims were foreign nationals, or French citizens with dual nationalities.
No. of Foreigners Visiting France v. New Zealand
Based on figures released by the World Bank, and other sources, about 1.25 billion [1,254 million] foreigners visited France during that period.
During the same period, about 40.8 million [40,795,000] foreigners visited New Zealand, according to the World Bank and Statistics NZ (see links below).
Killed in New Zealand
Figures published by newzeelend.wordpress.com (this blog) show that: “More than 3,400 overseas visitors, international students, foreign workers and recent emigrants have lost their lives and about 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since year 2000.”
[Alternately, other credible statistics may be submitted to the blog for consideration, or plugged into the following equations.]
- Probability of a foreigner being killed while visiting New Zealand: 3,400/40,795,000 (8.33e-5) or about 1 in 10,000
- Probability of a foreigner being killed in France from acts of terrorism: 42/1.25 billion or about 1 in 30 million (3.35e-8)
Killed in New Zealand from Tourism/Killed in France from Terrorism = (8.334e-5)/ (3.35e-8) = 2,488.4
Conclusion:
Foreign visitors are about 2,500 times more likely to be killed violently while visiting New Zealand (air and road crashes, adventure tourism…), than being killed in France by the terrorists.

More than 3,400 overseas visitors, international students, foreign workers and recent emigrants have lost their lives and about 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since year 2000.
Had they known the risks…
The names of those people believed to have been on the helicopter when it crashed on Fox Glacier have now been released by the police.
Police have not revealed the duration of the victims stay in New Zealand prior to the fatal crash. An English tourist who had survived an Australian holiday, was “road-murdered” in a two-car collision within 10 hours of arriving in New Zealand, about two weeks ago.
The latest victims of Fox Glacier crash are:
- Mitchell Paul GAMEREN, 28 [originally from Holland?] Queenstown (Pilot)
- Andrew VIRCO, 50, Cambridge, UK
- Katharine WALKER, 51, Cambridge
- Nigel Edwin CHARLTON, 66, Hampshire, UK
- Cynthia CHARLTON, 70, Hampshire
- Sovannmony LEANG, 27, New South Wales, Australia
- Josephine GIBSON, 29, New South Wales
Katharine Walker was reportedly the head of Radiotherapy at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England.
RIP. Katharine Walker, 51, from Cambridge, England, was one of the seven people killed in the Fox Glacier crash. Would she have chosen to travel to New Zealand, let alone fly a helicopter, had she known the risks?
A 2004 study of accidents between 1990 and 2002 found that New Zealand had five times the rate of small aircraft crashes than the US, and four times that of the UK. [NZ Govt Stats]
Why do the governments in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, India… pretend to protect their nationals against the threat of terrorism, but stay mum about the dangers of tourism in New Zealand?

Tasman Police said:
“It is believed two [of the helicopter crash victims] were Australians and four were from the United Kingdom. Formal identification of those people will take some time”. http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/fox-glacier-victims-nationalities
“The helicopter that crashed is believed to be a Eurocopter “Squirrel” operated by local firm Alpine Adventures,” according to a report.
The police have not said how long the tourists had stayed alive in New Zealand before the fatal crash. An English tourist who had survived an Australian holiday, was “road-murdered” in a two-car collision within 1o hours of arriving in New Zealand, about two weeks ago.
Other details of the crash:

Sent by a reader in the world’s smelliest city [aka, the rotten eggs city, Sulphur City, and Rotorua]
“Unfortunately, Spanish Judges have balls!”
Spanish Judge Jose de la Mata has issued an arrest warrant for the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu over the deadly attack by IDF on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla in 2010 that killed ten people, according to a report.
Crimes against humanity: Mr Netanyahu and six former officials would be arrested if they set foot on Spanish soil.
The Freedom Flotilla aid ship Mavi Marmara, which was trying to bring supplies to Gaza during an an Israeli-imposed blockade, was attacked by Israeli Defense forces (IDF).
